Provided is a method for a component of a cellular network for paging a plurality of user equipments being assigned to one of at least two paging groups, wherein each paging group is paged at a paging occasion defined for said paging group. The method comprises the steps of ascertaining at least one physical characteristics of said user equipment, assigning the user equipment to a paging group considering said at least one physical characteristic, and sending an information message related to paging at a defined paging occasion depending on the assigned paging group.

Method for paging user equipments in a cellular network

Herein provided is a method for operating a base station of a cellular network. The base station serves user equipment camping thereon, or connected thereto, and agrees with the user equipment to a periodic dedicated prescheduled uplink transmission schedule. Upon determining that an uplink occasion of that schedule is missed by the user equipment, the user equipment is considered as unavailable for communicating at said uplink occasion in relation with the base station. If it is considered unavailable, it instead maintains a presently active dedicated prescheduled uplink transmission schedule. Otherwise it cancels the presently active dedicated prescheduled uplink transmission schedule. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A method for securing a direct communication connection between a first and a second user equipment, both configured to operate with base stations of a wireless network, in which the first user equipment maintains an authentication code received from a first security center accessible via the wireless network, said first security center being assigned to a first area, the method comprising the steps for the first user equipment of: maintaining a trust level of the authentication code, reducing the trust level relating to the time of last access to one of the base stations of the wireless network, submitting to the second user equipment the authentication code and the trust level, for setting up the direct communication connection, and in case of reception of a confirmation transmission from the second user equipment: setting up the direct communication connection with the second user equipment.

Method for securing a direct communication connection

The present invention relates to a method for controlling at least one measurements by a base node of a cellular network, the base node serving at least one low-capability wireless terminal in an open connection in coverage enhancement mode, the method comprising the steps of: determining the coverage enhancement level of said wireless terminal, estimating a measurement time for carrying out said at least one measurement taking into account said coverage enhancement level, sending a measurement request message in conjunction with a suspend connection message to the wireless terminal, providing a resume indication to the wireless terminal considering said estimated measurement time, and retrieving at least one measurement response message from the wireless terminal comprising the at least one requested measurement.

Method for cellular network based controlling of measurements by a low-capability wireless terminal

A wireless terminal for operating in a cellular network includes a transceiver, at least one processor and a memory. The transceiver is configured to receive system information respectively transmitted by base stations comprising area system information transmitted by one of the base stations. The area system information is common for a local area covered by said base station and at least one other base station. The processor is configured to store received area system information in the memory. The processor is configured to process a later transmitted area system information only in case of detection of: an area identifier transmitted with the system information indicating a change of area, or a system value change field transmitted with the system information indicating a change of values of area system information values, or an overrun field transmitted with the system information indicating an overrun of the system value change field.
