The present invention provides an improved abrasive delivery system for delivering an abrasive material to a waterjet cutting nozzle which has no external pressure effects on the orifice metering the flow of abrasive material from a container for the material by using air pressure to transport the abrasive material to the cutting nozzle through a standard metering orifice where equal pressure is maintained above and below the orifice to provide a constant volume of abrasive material flow to the cutting nozzle which is located up to 100 feet or more from the metering device.

A tool positioning assembly for receiving tooling for repairing heater penetrations at the lower end of a pressurizer supported on its end by a support skirt between the pressurizer and a base with the pressurizer having a surge line extending vertically into the apex of the lower spherical end of the pressurizer. A pair of circular tracks are mounted so as to be concentric with the pressurizer. The inner track is mounted to the surge line and the outer track is mounted so as to be below the outer periphery of the pressurizer. A carriage is movably mounted between the tracks so as to be movable therebetween and around the pressurizer. Cross slides mounted on the carriage provide horizontal movement. A vertical slide mounted on the upper cross slide provides vertical movement and is also rotatable around its own vertical axis for clearance purposes when maneuvering around the heater penetration nozzles.

Tool positioning assembly

A contact ultrasonic transducer head assembly. A stationary housing is adapted to be fitted to a remotely operated manipulator. A movable assembly slidably received by the stationary housing has a plurality of independently suspended ultrasonic transducers mounted thereon. A position encoder mounted in the movable assembly monitors movement within the stationary housing. A limit switch is used to electrically disable the remotely operated manipulator when the movable assembly slides a predetermined distance into the stationary housing to prevent damage to the transducers or the surface being inspected.
