A banquet table comprises a laminate tabletop with a high-pressure solid composite laminate of paper impregnated with resin. A hoop carries a perimeter of the tabletop and has a perimeter with a size and a shape substantially matching a size and a shape of a perimeter of the tabletop. Elongated runners carry an interior of the tabletop. Legs are coupled to the runners and extend to elevate the tabletop thereon. A polymer trim surrounds the perimeter of the hoop. The trim has a vertical height substantially the same as a vertical thickness of the hoop, with the tabletop extending above a height of the trim so that the tabletop has an exposed perimeter edge. The trim has a horizontal thickness extending laterally beyond the tabletop.

A scissor-type banquet or event table comprises a tabletop removably coupled to and disposable upon a stand. The stand comprises a pair of leg frames pivotally coupled together at an intersection. The pair of leg frames comprise adjacent spars with each of the spars associated with a different one of the pair of leg frames. A safety spacer is disposed between the adjacent spars of the pair of leg frames and separates the adjacent spars. The safety spacer has a thickness so that the adjacent spars are spaced-apart by a gap greater than &#xbe;&#x2033; to resist pinching a user's fingers. In addition, the tabletop and the stand are coupled together with a snap-fit. The snap-fit comprises detents between the tabletop and the stand. Each detent is biased into a respective hole along an axis between the detent and the respective hole.

A folding mesh chair includes a seat and a backrest carried between opposite frame sides. The chair has an unfolded seating position in which the seat pivots to extend from the frame sides and bottoms of front and rear legs move apart, and a folded position in which the seat pivots toward the frame sides and the front and rear legs move together. One or both of the seat and the backrest have a continuous sheet of flexible and elastic mesh or patterned open texture plastic held across and substantially covering an opening in an all-plastic hoop fixed between the frame sides.

A folding mesh chair includes a seat and a backrest carried between opposite frame sides. The chair has an unfolded seating position in which the seat pivots to extend from the frame sides and bottoms of front and rear legs move apart, and a folded position in which the seat pivots toward the frame sides and the front and rear legs move together. One or both of the seat and the backrest have a continuous sheet of flexible and elastic mesh or patterned open texture plastic held across and substantially covering an opening in an all-plastic hoop fixed between the frame sides. The hoop includes inner and outer plastic mating hoops with the mesh extending over an outer perimeter of the inner hoop and into an interface between the inner and outer hoops.

A folding and stacking chair system includes a plurality of folding and stacking chairs having an unfolded seating position in which the chairs are configured for sitting upon, and a folded and stacked position in which the chairs are folded and stacked together. Each chair has a seat and a backrest carried between opposite frame sides each with a backrest support, a front leg and a rear leg. The seat and the backrest each have a continuous sheet of flexible and elastic mesh or patterned open texture plastic held between the backrest supports of the frame sides.

The chair seat includes a seat surface having a pair of adjacent or side-by-side concentric corrugated regions formed therein, and which are configured for flexibly supporting the buttocks of the user by being deflectable with respect to the seat surface. The seat surface further includes a third corrugated region surrounding and concentric with the pair of side-by-side corrugated regions, and which third region is configured for flexibly supporting the hips and thighs of the user while also being deflectable with respect to the seat surface.
