A method and system automatically assist in a creation of a manufacturing workflow (WF) for manufacturing a product. The method includes receiving a graphical user input in an editing area configured for creating a manufacturing WF, the graphical user input includes a WF starting node and automatically selecting in a meta-workflow (MWF) library, in response to the received graphical user input and in function of the latter, a MWF. The selected MWF is a graphical pattern starting with the WF starting node and ending with a WF ending node, the latter being connected to each other through a sequence of interconnected decision and/or activity nodes. The selected MWF is displayed in a display box and then in the editing area. A manufacturing WF is created from the MWF displayed in the editing area. An auto-suggestion process is used for associating each node of the MWF to a manufacturing operation.

System and method for assisted modeling of manufacturing workflows

A method and system for dispatching a production order for a product within a distributed environment with several production lines Ldistributed in one or several production sites Si. A production order for the product is received with a first list of required production parameters, with an ordered target value for each required production parameter. A nominal set of production lines Lis automatically determined that are capable of implementing the production of the product with respect to resource availability and sets are selected from a nominal set of production lines and from a production scenario. The system selects a first set, a second set and a third set of production lines from the nominal set and then automatically determines one or more optimal production lines for producing said product and then dispatches the production order to the optimal production line(s).

System and method for manufacturing a product in a distributed environment

A module for controlling integrity properties of a data stream input into a device, such as a machine for manufacturing or a management system related to such machines. A plurality of control items are registered in a database. At least one activable control means executes a control of one integrity property according to one of several registered control items. A list is attached to the database with selectable links for activating at least one of the control means. Configuration means perform on at least one of the links a chronological selection according to a predefined management profile on integrity properties of the data stream in order to introduce a selectable relative time delay between activations of control items. Due to that configuration, the integrity control thus obtained is provided with high reliability as well as in a very flexible manner.

Manufacturing device and module for controlling integrity properties of a data stream input into the manufacturing device

A method and a system for decoupling a calling application from an external application in a manufacturing execution system, wherein the calling application interacts with the external application by requesting the execution of one or more external methods defined within the external application. First, the calling application obtains three lists from the external application, namely, the available external method list containing the ordered list of the available external methods, the usable parameter list containing the ordered list of the parameters usable by the external methods, and the signature list containing the list of signatures of the external method. The term signature indicated a coded way to define a method interface. The calling application requests a command to call a given external method from the external application by performing the following sub-steps: assigning, for the requested given method, a value to the position index within the available method list; getting the signature of the given method from the signature list by applying its position index; gathering, from the usable parameter list, the required parameters of the given method as indicated from its signature; and generating the command to call the external method with its required parameters.

Method and system for decoupling a calling application from an external application

A system for handling a dependency between two product segments of a process modeling a production system within a manufacturing execution system (MES) includes a network and a production modeler. The network has data processing units running a MES software for controlling and/or monitoring a production process operating a production components. The production modeler within the MES software defines the dependency between the two product segments, and allows modeling the dependency in a graphical environment as a link between the two product segments. The link is selected from a tool box having link types, each defining one of predetermined dependencies, such as: the two product segments run in parallel, one of the product segments starts after end of the other product segment, one of the product segments starts with a predetermined delay after the other product segment has been started, both two product segments use an identical equipment.
