An anti-fungal composition, including: (a) an extract of botanical materials, the botanical materials including material from Echinacea species, and Propolis, which is a material derived from the hives of bees; and (b) an essential oil. The compositions of the present invention have been shown to have unexpectedly prolonged anti-fungal activity, as well as having anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activities. Preferably, the essential oil includes at least one oil selected from the group consisting of tea-tree oil, thyme oil and lavander oil. Also preferably, the herbal extract includes a mixture of Calendula, poke root, Echinacea and Propolis extract.

Anti-fungal compositions with prolonged activity

A synergistic anti-bacterial composition, including: (a) an extract of botanical materials, the botanical materials including material from Plantago species, Hypericum species, Echinacea species and Propolis; and (b) oil of cinnamon.

Synergistic herbal extracts

An effervescent granule for the release and efficient dispersion of a herbal preparation in water. Also provided is a method of making the phytomedicated granule and a method of using the granule. The granule of the present invention is particularly efficient for the dispersion of a herbal preparation which includes an essential oil, although herbal preparations including an herbal extract can also be used.

Effervescent granules

A tablet for the local and slow release of herbal medication into the oral cavity of a subject. Also provided is a method of making the tablet and a method of using the tablet. The tablet includes a pharmaceutically effective amount of a herbal medication, a polymeric matrix material such as ethyl cellulose, a release enhancer such as PEG 4000 and a filler such as lactose. The tablet is characterized by long dissolution times of up to 120 minutes.
