A mounting arrangement for supporting the light-transmitting sheets of material in a gaming cabinet includes an upper retaining structure that secures an upper edge of the sheet, and a lower support surface upon which a lower edge portion of the sheet is disposed. A gaming machine includes a cabinet defining an internal space and a front side. The cabinet has an opening in the front side for providing access to the internal space. A door is movably mounted to the cabinet for movement between an open position providing access to the internal space, and a closed position wherein the door substantially closes off the opening in the cabinet. The door has an enlarged opening defining generally vertical spaced apart side edges. At least one screen is mounted to the door, and extends across at least a substantial portion of the opening in the door, the screen having an outside surface. A generally horizontal cross member extends across the enlarged opening, and has opposite ends positioned adjacent the vertical side edges. The cross member is adjustably secured to the door such that the vertical position of the cross member can be adjusted to vary the size of an upper portion of the enlarged opening above the cross member, and a lower portion of the enlarged opening below the cross member.

A hinge arrangement for a gaming device includes a hinge pivotally connecting a cabinet access door to a cabinet. The cabinet access door and the cabinet form a gap therebetween adjacent the hinge when the cabinet access door is closed, but the hinge forms a pocket-shaped barrier around the gap preventing unauthorized access through the gap into the interior of the cabinet. Further, an edge of the cabinet pivots into the pocket and engages a side of the pocket-shaped barrier when the cabinet access door is pivoted 90.degree. to the open position, thus preventing the cabinet access door from pivoting beyond 90.degree. damagingly into an adjacent gaming device.

Security hinge for gaming device

A bill acceptor door is pivotally mounted to a cabinet access door of a cabinet by a hinge arrangement that facilitates assembly, but which provides secure retention of the bill acceptor door. In particular, tile hinge arrangement includes a hinge bracket defining a pair of slots, and the bill acceptor door includes a housing defining a pair of slot engaging pivot pins. The housing is configured to securely receive a bill acceptor and a bill collector cartridge, but only after the bill acceptor door is mounted on the cabinet. The bill acceptor door can be oriented in the intermediate position so that the pivot pins will slidingly engage the slots. The hinge bracket further defines fingers which engage the restrictive space between the pivot pins and the bill acceptor door to interlockingly engage the pivot pins and thus securely retain tile bill acceptor door to the hinge bracket when the bill acceptor door is located between the intermediate and open positions.
