A security system for a vehicle includes a keyboard including a start key and a washout key and adapted to receive a user code. A processor is operably coupled to the keyboard for receiving signals indicative of entry of the user code actuation of the washout key and, wherein the processor provides an output signal if the user code is entered and is followed by actuation of the start key. The processor also provides the output signal if the start key has been entered during an adjustable time period after the vehicle has been turned off. However, if the washout key is actuated, the processor does not provide the output signal upon actuation of the start key during the time period after the vehicle is turned off. A controlled device is operably connected to the processor and controls a component of the vehicle to allow the vehicle to start when the output signal from the processor is received.

Keyless ignition system with washout feature

A power attachment is attachable to a power machine which has a power circuit. The power machine also includes an operator input device receiving an operator input and providing an output signal indicative of the operator input. The attachment includes a tool and an actuator, coupled to the tool, to drive the tool. The actuator is also connectable to the power circuit of the power machine. A controller is operably coupled to the actuator and is operably couplable to the operator input device. The controller controls operation of the tool based on an operator input signal provided by the operator input device.

Intelligent attachment to a power tool

A power machine includes a frame and a plurality of power actuators operable coupled to the frame. A power circuit is coupled to the power actuators and provides power to the power actuators. A cab is operably coupled to the frame and defines an operator compartment. The cab includes a seat supported in the operator compartment. A non-contact operator presence sensor is coupled proximate the cab and is configured to sense presence of an occupant in a predefined volume proximate the seat. The operator presence sensor provides a sensor output signal indicative of operator presence. A controller is coupled to the operator presence sensor and is configured to control operation of at least one of the plurality of power actuators based on the sensor output signal.

Non-contact operator presence sensor

A security system for a vehicle includes a keyboard for receiving input codes that comprise user input codes and a start code. A processor is operably coupled to the keyboard for receiving signals indicative of each input user code and the start code, wherein the processor provides an output signal if an input user code corresponds to an user code and is followed by the start code. The processor also provides the output signal if the start code has been entered during an adjustable time period after the vehicle has been turned off. A controlled device is operably connected to the processor and controls a component of the vehicle to allow the vehicle to start when the output signal from the processor is received.

Keyless ignition system with delayed security

A control apparatus controls movement of a lift arm and tool on a skid steer loader. Power actuators are coupled to the lift arm circuit and the tool circuit for moving the lift arm and tool along a path. A sensor is coupled to the skid steer loader for sensing a desired parameter and providing a signal indicative of the desired parameter. A power interrupter is coupled between the power actuators for the lift arm and tool and the sensor and interrupts power to the actuators based on the signal. A manually operable bypass mechanism is coupled to the power interrupter and the power actuators and is used to bypass the power interrupter to allow movement of the lift arm.

Hydraulic interblock system

A seat assembly and a power machine includes a seat having a front portion, a back portion, and first and second side portions. A base plate supports the seat, and a hinge is pivotably connected between the first side portion of the seat and the base plate. The second side portion of the seat is connected to the base plate to allow limited movement of the second side portion of the seat relative to the base plate. A spring is coupled to the seat and to the base plate and urges the second side portion of the seat away from the base plate. A Hall effect sensor housing supports a Hall effect sensor and is operably mounted to one of the base plate and the seat. A magnet is operably mounted to another the base plate and the seat and is positioned to cooperate with the Hall effect sensor so that the Hall effect sensor provides a sensor indicative of a position of the second side portion of the seat.

Side pivot seat

An apparatus controls operation of a power machine which has a frame, a seat supported by the frame, wheels supporting the frame, a drive mechanism for driving the wheels, a lift arm structure manipulated by power actuators, and a power circuit for controlling the actuators. An occupancy sensor is coupled to the power machine for providing an occupancy signal indicative of occupancy in the seat. A traction lockout mechanism locks the drive mechanism to preclude the drive mechanism from driving the wheels. A controller is coupled to the occupancy sensor, the traction lockout device and the power lockout device and controls the traction lockout device and power lockout device based upon the input from the occupancy sensor. A display is coupled to the controller for displaying the indicia indicative of an operational state based on a display output signal provided by the controller.

Interlock control system for power machine

A loader boom assembly has articulated lift arms that have first and second lift arm sections pivotally mounted together. The rear lift arm section is pivotally mounted to rear portions of a prime mover frame. The main lift arm section is substantially longer than the first lift arm section and pivots on the outer end of the rear lift arm link. The lift arm sections are in a folded position when the lift arms are lowered, and a control link is provided to cause the lift arms to unfold as the lift arms are raised to keep the forward portion of the main lift arm section moving along a generally vertical path after a selected lift height to provide a better forward reach of the boom assembly at the higher range of lift. The proportional lengths of the lift arm sections and the control link and the placement of the pivot points and actuators on the main frame also provide structural integrity and efficient power utilization.

Skid steer loader

A system for removably mounting a trenching attachment to hook and eye mounts on an end of a power unit. The trenching attachment includes a mounting frame having hook-engaging shafts and eye-engaging pins, a head drive assembly, a trenching boom assembly pivotally mounted to the head drive assembly, and a hydraulic boom cylinder for raising and lowering the boom assembly with respect to the mounting frame. With the boom assembly supported in a three-point stance adjacent the power unit, the cylinder is actuated in a first direction to rotate the mounting frame with respect to the boom assembly, and engage the shafts with the mounting frame hooks. Further actuation of the cylinder in the first direction rotates the mounting frame with respect to the boom assembly and power unit until the mounting frame pins are adjacent the mount eyes. A grease cylinder on the mounting frame is actuated to extend the pins and engage the mount eyes. The trenching boom assembly can then be raised off the ground by actuating the cylinder in a second direction. Four sets of hook and eye mounts are located at equally spaced and laterally separated positions on the end of the power unit permitting the trenching attachment to be mounted at either centerline, partial offset or full offset trenching positions. When in the full offset position the trenching boom assembly is aligned with a side of the power unit. An auger and auger shaft located on the same side of the power unit as the boom assembly can be removed to permit trenching adjacent a structure.

Trenching attachment mounting method

The assembly of a skid steer loader includes the fabrication of a lower frame assembly which has a transmission case with side walls and front and back end walls, and an engine mount platform which is welded to and extends from the back end wall. A hydraulic motor is mounted to each side wall of the transmission case. An engine and hydraulic pump are fastened to an engine/pump mounting bracket and coupled by a belt linkage to form an engine and hydraulic pump assembly. The engine and hydraulic pump assembly is then mounted to the engine mount platform at the back end of the lower frame assembly. Hydraulic fluid hoses which couple the hydraulic pump to the hydraulic motors can then be added. A main frame assembly having a pair of laterally spaced side members adapted to be mounted to the lower frame assembly and form side walls of an engine compartment is also fabricated. A hydraulic control valve and its associated hydraulic fluid hoses can be mounted to the main frame assembly. The main frame assembly is bolted to the lower frame assembly after the engine and hydraulic pump assembly have been fastened to the engine mount platform.

Method for assembling a skid steer loader

A skid steer loader includes an engine compartment and a heat exchanger compartment located behind the operator's compartment. A fan shroud mounted between the heat exchanger compartment and the engine compartment has a first air intake aperture opening into the heat exchanger compartment, a second air intake aperture opening into the engine compartment, and an exhaust port. A double-bladed radial fan is mounted for rotation within the fan shroud between the first and second air intake apertures. A fan drive mechanism coupled to the engine rotates the fan. The fan simultaneously induces a heat exchanger airflow of ambient air through the heat exchanger compartment and into the fan shroud through the first air intake aperture, and an engine compartment evacuation airflow from within the engine compartment into the fan shroud through the second air intake aperture. The heat exchanger airflow and engine compartment evacuation airflows are mixed and jointly discharged from the loader through the exhaust port.
