A method for rendering an animation object, including a plurality of sub-objects, on a display of a client computer under control of a remote server. The method includes transferring from the server to the client, program code which describes a structure of the object, accessing within a local memory associated with the client a program description of at least one of the sub-objects of the object, and displaying the object such that the sub-object is coupled to the structure in accordance with the program code.

Fast transmission of graphic objects

A method for producing an animation sequence on a graphic display driven by a computer, including defining an object that includes a geometrical description of an animated character and characteristics of social behavior of the character and animating an image of the character responsive to the characteristics. The character is programmed with a predetermined response, such as a rule governing motion of the character, to a sensitivity condition occurring externally to the object. The geometrical description of the object includes a geometrical skeleton characterized by a hierarchy of sub-objects connected by joints, the rule governing motion defines motions of the joints.

Programmable computer graphic objects

A method for creating a Web page component, including opening a remote connection to a server provided with a plurality of basic animation sequences having variable attributes associated therewith, and choosing, via the connection, at least one of the basic animation sequences. One or more of the variable attributes of the chosen animation sequence are changed, and a Web page is posted which includes the animation sequence with the changed attributes.
