An ESA antenna includes a layer of filters between the layer of radiating elements and the ground layer. The filter layer obviates certain post processing steps. The filters define a passband at the operating range of the antenna and a stopband defined to prevent crosstalk or reduce known external interference. Each filter includes alternating cells of a resonator cell formed by two split ring resonators and a resonator cell formed by a complementary split ring resonator and a complementary patch/stub. A particular implementation of the filter defines an operating range around 23 gigahertz with a passband to stopband transition of less than 500 megahertz. Vias may connect the filter layer to a surface component layer with beamforming integrated circuits, bypassing the routing layer.

An integrated imaging and passive directional finding (DF) system for a guided munition or weapons platform includes an electro-optical infrared (EOIR) imager within a nosecone of the weapons platform and configured for imaging of a detected target. The passive DF system includes an array of long periodic array (LPA) antenna elements, each element disposed on a face of a tapered conical ground chassis having a polygonal cross section, the LPA antenna elements self-shielded from the EOIR imager and other electronic components by the ground chassis. Each LPA antenna element scans for signals of interest (SoI) within the ultra-wide band (UWB) frequency range. Geolocation or passive direction finding (DF) based on detected signals of interest may be performed to guide the weapons platform into imaging range of one or more targets of interest, where EOIR imaging may take over for target discrimination and aimpoint refinement.

A system with an acoustic filter array for analog processing of radio signals above 8 GHz includes a receiver and a downconverter to down-convert an incoming signal into an intermediate frequency range (IF). Downconverter includes suppression of local oscillator image. An active manifold splits the IF signal into separate parallel feeds into individual acoustic filter elements in an acoustic filter array. Acoustic filter array provides individually channelized IF outputs. Each IF manifold feed and corresponding acoustic filter output channel is associated with an analog-to-digital converter or system switch.

The neural network may be further trained to produce a predictive probability of specific failure mode types.

A system-in-package or multi-chip module architecture that includes a field programmable neural array, that instantiates an instance of a neural network model trained to receive internal observation signals from a digitally controlled integrated circuit, and rapidly generate corresponding system settings to optimize desired characteristics. The system continuously adapts system settings to environmental conditions via a feedback loop of observation signals. The field programmable neural array may also receive observation signals external to the module to generate system settings based on factors not otherwise definable by internal signal characteristics.

The processor may be configured to: receive first, second, third, and fourth measurement coding matrixes; calculate a reference encoding matrix with coherent signal leakage de-embedded by subtracting the fourth measurement coding matrix from the third measurement coding matrix; calculate a differential encoding matrix providing twice a signal-to-noise ratio by adding the first measurement coding matrix and the second measurement coding matrix; calculate a differential matrix decoded back to conventional Hadamard matrix by subtracting the differential encoding matrix providing twice a signal-to-noise ratio from the reference encoding matrix with coherent signal leakage de-embedded; calculate complex calibration coefficients for the antenna radiating elements by multiplying an inverse Hadamard matrix by the differential matrix decoded back to conventional Hadamard matrix; and program the antenna array with amplitude and phase offsets computed from the complex calibration coefficients.
