A visualization system generates for display one or more radial maps that represent data values for a plurality of parameters measured for groups of entities. Each group of rows of the radial map represents a group of entities for whom the parameters are measured and compared against a baseline or control group, while each column represents a measured parameter. If the visualization system determines that an entity has a data value for a measured parameter that deviates from the control group value by more than a threshold amount, the system visually distinguishes the outlier value from the other geometric shapes in the radial map. Additionally, two or more radial maps may be simultaneously displayed on a visual interface based on correlations between data points for groups of entities.

A bubble is displayed in a visualization that is based on a number of distinct values pertaining to the concept and on a number of records in the dataset including at least one of the distinct values pertaining to the concept. Furthermore, the dataset includes records from one or more databases organized into a concept hierarchy. The bubble includes, for a level of the concept hierarchy, a plurality of indicators each representing one of the distinct values at the level of the concept hierarchy. An interaction with the bubble visualization is received. Responsive to receiving the interaction, the bubble visualization is updated by adjusting the bubble to include a radial bar graph representative of a relative quantity of each distinct value of the concept represented by the bubble at each indicator of the plurality of indicators.

Mechanisms are provided for performing a role engineering project for applying security roles to access operations targeting resources. A plurality of data objects representing one or more user identities, permissions, and resources of an organization computing system are received. One or more filter criteria for filtering the plurality of data objects to generate a subset of data objects for consideration during the role engineering project are received. The one or more filter criteria specify a scope of the role engineering project. The one or more filter criteria are applied to generate the subset of data objects. Role engineering project operations are performed on the subset of data objects to generate one or more security roles. The one or more security roles are deployed to the organization computing system to control access operations targeting resources of the organization computing system.

Techniques are described for suggesting aliases for a resource within a computing environment based on user-provided aliases for the resource. Embodiments determine a plurality of user-provided aliases for the resource and generate a suggested alias for the resource based on the plurality of user-provided aliases. The suggested resource may be provided to a user of the computing environment. The suggested alias is then associated with the resource, such that the user may refer to the resource using the suggested alias for the resource.

A method for automatic volume adjustment performed by a physical computing system includes, with the computing system, determining a virtual proximity between a user and a number of applications running on the computing system, the virtual proximity based in part on a type of one of the number of applications, and with the computing system, automatically adjusting a volume of the number of applications linked with a sound peripheral connecting to the computing system, the volume of each of the number of applications being based on the virtual proximity.

Boolean graphs and complex non-intuitive editors for authoring complex nested Boolean expressions can result in erroneous evaluation results by relying exclusively on the ability of an author of the Boolean expression to accurately incorporate operands into the Boolean expression to achieve the desired result. Functionality for analyzing the effect of operator changes can be incorporated into an intuitive graphical user interface for authoring the Boolean expression. The impact of the operator changes can be determined based on a position of the operator in the Boolean expression. Multiple evaluation orders for evaluating the operators and their associated operands can also be identified and presented to the programmer to resolve ambiguities, that may arise while evaluating the Boolean expression. The organization of the Boolean expression can be graphically depicted to reflect an evaluation order of the operators and their associated operands that comprise the Boolean expression.

Systems and methods for decomposing and decaying data over time by decomposing a type of data item into constituent units of the data item, establishing relationship factors between data items to other data items and between constituent units, creating a shelf-life criterion for the constituent units priority dimensions, calculating or updating a decomposability index for each constituent unit as a function of the priority dimensions while also applying a relationship factor and optionally incrementing for another dimension, and then decaying over time the data items by deleting all constituent units which have decomposability indices exceeding a configured threshold.

Data is decayed over time by a type of data item by identifying constituent units of each data item; creating a shelf-life criterion for the constituent units by assigning dimensions to each data item and to each constituent unit; for each of the data items of the data item type, establishing relationship factors for each data item to other data items, between constituent units within data items, and between data items; periodically calculating or updating a decomposability index for each constituent unit as a function of the priority dimensions and the data life dimensions by moving the index towards a threshold for constituent units which are reproducible; and subsequently, decaying the data by deleting from storage constituent units which have decomposability indices exceeding a configured threshold, thereby reducing the amount of storage occupied by a remaining plurality of data items.
