A differential pressure regulating device is provided for controlling in-vivo pressure in a body, particular in a heart. The device may include a shunt being positioned between two or more lumens in a body, to enable fluids to flow between the lumens, and an adjustable flow regulation mechanism being configured to selectively cover an opening of the shunt to regulate the flow of fluid through the shunt in relation to a pressure difference between the body lumens. In some embodiments, a control mechanism coupled to the adjustable flow regulation mechanism may be provided to remotely activate the adjustable flow regulation mechanism.

Device and method for controlling in-vivo pressure

Methods of reducing oxidative damage to an eye of a subject are provided. Aspects of the method include intravitreal injection an antioxidant composition consisting essentially of a non-reducing sugar or a hydrate thereof. In some embodiments, the non-reducing sugar is trehalose. The methods can further include surgical removal of at least a portion of the subject's vitreous humor during a vitrectomy. Also provided are ophthalmic compositions, kits and pre-loaded injection devices for use in vitrectomy surgery which find use in the subject methods.

A system and method for automatically navigating an in vivo imaging capsule in a body lumen. The system comprises an imaging capsule including an imager, optional pressure sensor for producing data of forces acting on the imaging capsule in vivo, and a transmitter to transmit image, positioning and pressure data from the capsule to an external unit. A positioning system for providing current position data of the capsule in vivo may be included in the capsule and/or external to it. External magnets may generate a magnetic field to scan a body lumen by causing a predetermined motion pattern of the imaging capsule within a region proximate to its current position, and generate a driving force to propel the imaging capsule according to a calculated target direction vector. A processor may calculate a target direction vector for propelling the imaging capsule based, on unique patterns identifiable in one or more images.

System and method for automatic navigation of a capsule based on image stream captured in-vivo

Embodiments of the invention include a method and system for displaying an in vivo imaging procedure. The method includes receiving real-time image data captured by the capsule, and continuously generating an updated summarized color bar, said color bar comprising color strips and time scale marks. The color bar is calculated based on color values of received image data, and is updated continuously as new image data is received. The displayed time period is periodically updated, for example based on predetermined fixed time intervals, based on varying time intervals, or based on an accumulated amount of received image data. Other methods of determining the periodic updates may be used.

A device, system and method for detecting bile and blood are provided. The device may comprise a housing having a gap through which in-vivo fluids may flow, illumination sources on one side of the gap, a light detector which is facing the illumination sources and is positioned on the opposite side of the gap for detecting light which passes through the in-vivo fluids, and a transmitter to transmit the detected signals generated according to the detected light. The system may further comprise a receiver to receive the detected signals transmitted by the transmitter, and a processor. The method may comprise comparing the detected signals with a predetermined threshold calculated from the transmission spectra of bile and of blood and determining the presence and/or concentration of bile and blood in-vivo.

A camera comprising: a photosurface comprising light sensitive pixels that generate signals responsive to light incident thereon and optics that focus an image of a scene onto the photosurface; and an illumination system for illuminating the scene, the illumination system comprising: an illuminator having a plurality of substantially contiguous, independently controllable light providing regions; optics that focuses an image or the illuminator on the scene so that light from the illuminator illuminates substantially all of and substantially only the field of view of the camera; and a controller that controls light provided by each light providing region.
