Systems and methods are provided for mobile device context aware determinations. In one implementation inputs are received in relation to a location which corresponding to an incidence of deceleration, the inputs are processed to determine a likelihood that the deceleration is to be maintained for a shorter and/or longer time duration, and based on a determination that the deceleration is to be maintained for longer, a restriction at a device can be modified. According to another aspect, first time intervals which correspond to navigation instances associated with a first instruction provider and second time intervals which correspond to other navigation instances can be received, the first time intervals can be compared with the second time intervals to determine an efficiency of the first navigation provider, and based on a determination that the first navigation provider is relatively efficient, a recommendation to select the first navigation instruction provider can be provided.

Mobile device context aware determinations

Systems and methods are provided for context determination. In one implementation one or more indications can be received, each of the one or more indications corresponding to a perception of one or more access points in relation to a user device. The one or more indications can be processed to determine one or more characteristics of at least one of the one or more access points. Based on the one or more characteristics, a context of the user device can be determined.

Methods and systems are provided for determining a value of an event performance variable associated with a driving event, and/or for determining a session performance variable associated with at least one driving session. The method comprising: identifying a driving event which occurred during a driving session of a vehicle; providing a plurality of indicators associated with such a driving event; retrieving respective values for each of the plurality of indicators from one or more sensors located in the vehicle being driven; providing a mathematical relationship that represents the event performance variable as a function of the plurality of indicators, wherein the mathematical relationship represents an event of the type characterizing the identified driving event; and determining value of the event performance variable based on the mathematical relationship provided, by applying the values retrieved for each of the plurality of indicators.

Methods and systems for determining driving performance variables

A method is described for providing an advanced indication to a driver that a road segment which will require his attention is located along his route. The method comprising: a) detecting the vehicle's current location and identifying a road segment that the driver is about to reach; b) for the identified road segment, retrieving values of driving performance parameters associated therewith; c) evaluating whether any of the retrieved values exceeds a pre-defined threshold, and based on that evaluation, determining whether the identified road segment is a low service level segment and thus would require the driver's attention; and d) providing the driver with an advanced indication indicating the road segment which has been determined as being a segment of a low service level for the driver.

Method and device for providing advanced indications to a vehicle's driver

A data processing system which comprises: a first sensor adapted to provide indications of a first type on a vehicle's engine operational mode; a second sensor adapted to provide indications of a second type related to the vehicle movement; and a processor adapted to identify one or more vehicle idling periods, based on at least one indication of the first type and at least one indication of the second type.

Idle detection for improving fuel consumption efficiency in a vehicle

A method is provided for evaluating fuel consumption efficiency of a vehicle driven by a driver. The method comprises the steps of: a) collecting data associated with said driver's driving performance from a plurality of sensors comprised in the vehicle; b) identifying a plurality of driving events based on the collected data; c) estimating the driver's performance in at least one driving event from among the identified plurality of driving events, wherein that at least one event if poorly performed is associated with increased fuel consumption; and d) based on the estimated driver's performance of the at least one driving event, evaluating a fuel consumption efficiency of the vehicle driven by that driver.
