Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control signal allocating downlink resources and uplink resources, where the uplink resources puncture the downlink resources and are allocated for transmitting feedback control information. The UE may generate an uplink signal containing the feedback control information and one or more cancelation tones for canceling interference between a downlink signal and the uplink signal in accordance with a timing advance value. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may generate an uplink signal including the feedback control information, where the uplink signal contains uplink symbols and cyclic extensions appended to the uplink symbols, and the cyclic extensions may be based on the timing advance value. The UE may transmit, while receiving downlink data on the downlink resources, the uplink signal including the feedback control information using the set of uplink resources.

Signaling for enabling full-duplex communications in the presence of a timing advance

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques provide for reliable signal processing and amplification of downlink signals. A network entity may apply a digital pre-distortion (DPD) process to a signal for transmission to a user equipment (UE) and may apply a crest factor reduction (CFR) process to the output of the DPD process. The output of the CFR process may be amplified by a power amplifier and transmitted via a downlink transmission to the UE. The CFR process limits the peak power of the signal provided to the power amplifier (e.g., to a configured level), thereby reducing the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the signal provided to the power amplifier. The DPD process may compensate for non-linearities of the power amplifier. A training procedure for the DPD process may account for the CFR process applied after the DPD process.

Over the air reliable digital pre-distortion

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support adaptation of digital pre-distortion (DPD) coefficients based on a temperature of a user equipment (UE). The UE may determine a power offset value based on a first temperature value associated with a training procedure for the UE, a second temperature value associated with the UE, and a constant value. The training procedure may be associated with multiple sets of coefficients for the UE. The UE may apply the power offset value to a transmission power level for transmission of a message. The UE may determine a set of coefficients of the multiple sets of coefficients based on the training procedure and the power offset value applied to the transmission power level. The UE may apply the coefficients to a DPD engine of the UE to generate the message for transmission at the transmission power level.

Techniques for temperature adaptation for digital pre-distortion factory training

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, one or more downlink grants scheduling one or more corresponding downlink transmissions from the base station to the UE. In some examples, the UE may enter a state of sleep prior to receiving the one or more downlink transmissions. In such examples, the UE may wake up from the state of sleep at a first time that is at least a threshold period of time before a second time corresponding to a beginning of the one or more downlink transmissions. After waking up from the state of sleep, the UE may activate a notch filter and use the activated notch filter to filter a spur generated at the UE. The UE may receive the one or more downlink transmissions with improved reliability based on activating the notch filter.

Techniques for pre-opening notch filter in wireless communications system

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station and in a first slot, an indication of a signal to noise ratio (SNR) mode, of a plurality of SNR modes, to be used by the UE for one or more downlink communications in one or more slots that occur after the first slot, wherein different SNR modes of the plurality of SNR modes support at least one of different modulation and coding schemes, different ranks, or a combination thereof; and operate using the SNR mode in the one or more slots based at least in part on the indication. Indicating a signal to noise ratio for downlink communication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink control message from a base station indicating a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) associated with an uplink transmission, a number of layers associated with the uplink transmission, or both. The UE may determine to adjust (for example, reduce) a first number of bits based on the MCS, the number of layers, or both. The first number of bits may include an effective number of bits (ENOB) supported at a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) of the UE, a number of bits (NOB) supported at a transmission front end (TxFE) component of the UE, or both. The UE may transmit the uplink transmission to the base station according to the adjusted first number of bits.
