An edge server is served by a rendering machine supplying groups of pictures (GOPs) and comprises a buffer for a predetermined lead time over actual time. If a rendering machine fails then the partially available GOP from that rendering machine is discarded and another rendering machine, having the capacity to handle the GOPs stream, is activated. It provides GOPS from the failed GOP onwards and rendering continues therefrom by the replacing rendering machine. Rendering initially at a faster than real-time speed it is possible to catch-up on time so that the edge server continues to receive and transmit the GOPs without interruption. A plurality of rendering machines continuously operate to feed the edge server(s) and the number of channels used is such that allows for sufficient redundancy as well as for the faster than real-time rendering that is necessary in the case of a need for failover.

Audiovisual content in the form of video clip files, streamed or broadcasted may further contain subtitles. Such subtitles are provided with timing information so that each subtitle should be displayed synchronously with the spoken words. However, at times such synchronization with the audio portion of the audiovisual content has a timing offset which when above a predetermined threshold is bothersome. The system and method determine time spans in which a human speaks and attempts to synchronize those time spans with the subtitle content. Indication is provided when an incurable synchronization exists as well as the case where the subtitles and audio are well synchronized. It further is able to determine, when an offset exists, the type of offset (constant or dynamic) and providing the necessary adjustment information so that the timing used in conjunction with the subtitles timing provided may be corrected and synchronization deficiency resolved.

A system and method for embedding versatile graphics in a digital media file. This is performed by a system that contains a processor and a memory coupled thereto where the memory contains spaces therein for data and instructions. Data areas include: an infographic repository; a tables repository; a templates repository; and, a projects and outcomes repository. The instructions, when executed by the processor perform: obtaining a video project comprising rendering instructions and indication of an image and at least one replaceable infographic; obtaining the image that was indicated; obtaining the at least one replaceable infographic that was indicated from the infographic repository; rendering a clear template from the templates repository; rendering a plurality of pattern images; generating a pixel's mapping table in the tables repository for each replaceable infographic of each frame of the clear template; and, retaining the clear template in the templates' repository and the tables in the tables repository of each replaceable infographic of each frame of the clear templates.

This disclosure describes a computer-implemented method for a control mechanism for video output. Additionally provided is a video stream that is generated from the video source and encoded by the video encoder, where the video stream further comprises one or more video frames with each video frame including a time stamp that includes timing and clocking information. This disclosure describes an apparatus () for improving performance of a multipoint control unit (). The apparatus () provides a video stream manipulator () and a multipoint control unit (). The video stream manipulator () may encode one or more video streams in a predetermined video codec standard separately. Each of the encoded video streams includes at least one encoded video frame made of a plurality of macroblocks, where the macroblocks are segregated into a predetermined number of macroblock lines. The multipoint control unit () may assemble predetermined number of macroblock lines from each of the encoded video streams in a predetermined composition.
