The present invention relates to laser beam profiling, more specifically to weak signals which are barely identified on a display screen representing the beam levels by color or gray palettes. Each displayed pixel on a beam profiling image represents the amount of laser power on said pixel. This represents the intensity information on a specific pixel. Integrating the pixel intensity information over the whole image will calculate the total power. Seldom, especially in high resolution cameras, the displayed information is indiscernible on the screen. However, there is enough information to observe the beam profile if the color or grayscale palette is displayed as percentage values of maximum intensity on the screen. Then, each percentage level will be assigned with a different color. By doing that, even very poor levels of displayed images could be enhanced to span over a full color or grayscale palette. The disclosed method is characterized by initially finding the maximum level of an image by histogram, then divide each pixel value by the maximum value found in the histogram, followed by displaying an image which has colors according to the percentage of power of each pixel relative to the maximum histogram level. This procedure can be performed either manually where the user adjusts the palette maximum, or automatically where software finds maximum level on histogram and spans the color palette onto the image percentage from maximum.

Beam profiling enhancement by automatic grayscale and color adjustment

The present invention introduces a high-power beam profiling system with versatile beam sampling capabilities, designed specifically for measuring multi-kilowatt laser beams. To overcome the limitations of traditional sampling devices that scan the laser beam for measurements, my invention employs a rotating beam sampler. This sampler swiftly traverses the beam for a brief period, capturing a momentary sample which is then reflected to a preferred measuring device such as a camera beam profiler. By capturing a snapshot of the beam, the camera determines the beam size efficiently. The device is inherently cooled by the rotating sampler's movement in the air, coupled with the assistance of external cooling nozzles. It comprises a low-reflectivity mirror, a mechanical arrangement for precise positioning of the mirror, a rotating motor, an additional low-reflectivity mirror, a beam profiling camera, and the necessary micro-controller and algorithm for image processing and calculating the beam profiles.

Sampling high power beam profiling

New spectacle related technology is offered for Augmented and Virtual Reality. However, this technology has many drawbacks and is not taking full advantage for other applications, for example driver glasses with enhanced imaging possibilities. Our embodiment offers 3D scanning cameras device built in to a pair of glasses to offer enhanced imaging, preferable for night driving. Special embodiment will offer the scanning device wherein an attachment will facilitate the device to be mounted to the glasses. The glasses themselves may have some other features for offering augmented and virtual reality to better serve the wearer on day-to-day life.

Smart eyeglasses

A method and apparatus for a structured light measuring device, having a preferable VCSEL array in its previous illuminated cross plane, using the laser array to be projected through said device's objective and collect the reflected beams through the same objective lens. A motorized stage is attached to the objective focusing, enabling back and forth focusing on different external planes. A software algorithm running on a computer device will analyze the reflected laser beam and find its central point and further translate it to angular deviations, similar to Autocollimation principles. Furthermore, this could be displayed as a cross on the user GUI for better user interface. The focusing function has the capability to focus the laser array at various planes, and analyze if the reflected beam is at its best focal point or deviates. By moving the focal point back and forth, a 3-D reconstruction can be achieved, preferable for lenses and calculating the center location relative to the device's line of sight.

Structured light measuring device

A method and apparatus for a panning camera using multiple lenses having a common planar image plane. An imaging device is positioned across said image plane sampling a section each time. The sampled plane is an imaging representation of a very large angular scenery and it is sampled and displayed piece by piece by the imaging device. An instantaneous image of a said section is displayed or stored by a computing device. Installation of two or more said panning camera with an offset distance in between will be the basis of fast 3D measurement of scenery around the installed cameras. As the imaging device advances across said image plane it will pass across fields of view of multiple lenses. The present invention relates to high resolution very wide field of view panning camera without moving the external camera casing. Said imaging device could be a CCD, CMOS, FLIR or other imaging camera device.

An aesthetic treatment device uses multiple light sources, lasers or LEDs focused on the treatment area from different directions. The multiple light sources for treatment purposes could have the same wavelength or different wavelengths each optimized for a different application. Target selection is performed by a dual wavelength smart illumination system combined with an imaging system, a smart processor for target recognition and a scanning system that directs the focused light from laser sources to an automatically selected treatment area. A motorized optical system performs a dual role of: focusing the laser sources and also steering the focused light to specific locations as designated by the imaging and processing systems.

Automatic aesthetic treatment device and method

A curtain wall or roof element, with built in solar panel or heat absorbing layer, and at least one blower for air circulation inside the enclosed device, one or more temperature sensors monitoring the temperature inside and outside the device and a microcontroller activating the blower according to predetermined program to heat or cool the room enclosed by the device. If solar cells or panels are used they will generate electrical power and heat. It is the purpose of this invention to increase the energy harvesting coefficient from the sun's radiation by utilizing the absorbed heat for increasing the temperature in a space enclosed by said device, moreover the smart configuration of the curtain wall will enable to change the system's isolation characteristics by changing its U values. U value of a curtain wall describes the heat isolation characteristics of the device in a numerical form.

A unique electro optical design will be disclosed, implemented for MTF measurements of multiple optical elements. The measurements are performed over a wide field of view by collimators moving in parallel in a synchronized manner while maintaining accuracy. The movement is angular over a wide angle and in two perpendicular directions&#x2014;pitch and yaw. By design, each said collimator element will perform its angular movement while protecting towards the center of lens under test from remote. Thus, the collimators' center of rotation will be the central point of each lens' input aperture. By shifting a tray loaded with lenses, a different batch will be tested on each sequence. The apparatus is suitable for testing both camera and lenses simultaneously. The apparatus will preferably test lenses or cameras directly on the production floor.

An aesthetic treatment device including: a multi illumination system having at least one source in the visible region, disposed around a periphery of a predetermined area of skin; an imaging device, sensitive to the illumination system, to discern features on or in the skin within the predetermined area of skin to be treated; multiple treatment light sources mounted on an optical bench and aimed and focused to a point of treatment in the predetermined area of skin; a mechanical guidance system to guide the multiple treatment light sources; and a pulse generator to control power output of the multiple treatment light sources based upon the treatment to be applied to the predetermined area of skin.

An aesthetic treatment device and method for treating the skin of a patient, the device comprising at least one of a plurality of arc lamps, each arc lamp provided with a reflector for obtaining a substantially collimated beam; a pulse generator for generating a train of pulses of electrical energy for energizing said at least one of a plurality of arc lamps; a control unit for controlling pulse shape, amplitude, width, frequency and timing, for obtaining controllable spectral output and energy of the collimated beam through an application end of the device to a designated area of skin of the patient. The device can further comprise secondary light sources with different spectrum characteristics than the arc lamp as well as various attachments including a position feedback, material dispenser, skin cooler, and docking station for optical fiber.

Aesthetic treatment device

A light or laser beam analyzer, using an imaging formation device such as a CCD video camera is equipped with an attenuating controllable filter or electronic shutter. The incoming beam is imaged several consecutive images each with a different attenuation and the spatial power level distribution on the detector's surface is digitized and transmitted to a host computer for further processing. The host computer will present the power distribution and calculate the beam's profile and the beam's shape.

Video laser beam analyzer

A method and apparatus electronically correct real image distortions caused by lens defects, designed-in distortions (fish-eye lenses), and angular distortion (due to trigonometry, and present in all lenses). The distorted images is directly detected by a photo-sensor array (e.g. a CCD image pickup) as pixel data representing the distorted image; optionally the lens is scanned over a small CCD array to generate different images. The raw image data is downloaded to a computer, in which special software corrects the distortions and reconfigures each raw image onto a virtual spherical surface. The corrected images are juxtaposed to build up a composite virtual image on the virtual sphere. Data representing the virtual image can be transformed back to a flat display surface for viewing any portion of the composite scene without distortion and without discontinuities between juxtaposed images.

A tomographic imaging system works with a conventional real image formed by, e.g., a lens. Scanning is over an image formation area of the image plane. A plurality of differently-oriented scanning apertures are disposed over the surface of a spinning element (disk or rotor drum). A detector is located behind the image plane for creating a signal proportional to light passing through the scanning apertures, which sweep over the image. The apertures are swept through the image plane in a first direction by the spinning of the disk or drum; they are simultaneously swept in a second direction, also lying in the image plane, that is perpendicular to the first direction, by appropriate mechanical mechanism. The simultaneous sweeps allow signal processing means to reconstruct from the detector signal a scanned image by using conventional tomographic algorithms. The device may include a variable-diameter aperture and means for moving the aperture over the image formation area; this acts as a 'zoom'.
