A pinless power plug for receiving wireless power from a pinless power jack may comprise at least one secondary coil for inductively coupling with a primary coil. The primary coil may be associated with the pinless power jack. The primary coil may be shielded behind an insulating layer. The pinless power plug may comprise an annular magnetic anchor arranged around a perimeter of the at least one secondary coil concentric and non-overlapping with the at least one secondary coil. The annular magnetic anchor may be configured to magnetically couple with an annular magnetic snag in the pinless power jack. The pinless power plug may comprise at least one magnet spaced away from and outside of the annular magnetic anchor. The at least one magnet may be configured to magnetically couple with a magnet in the pinless power jack at a particular orientation or angle.

Pinless power coupling

The pressure sensing mat including a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may include a first conductive layer that may be sandwiched between a first non-conductive layer and a non-conductive layer that define a first set of channels that may at least partially enclose a first conductive strip that may extend in a first direction. The second portion may include a second conductive layer that may be sandwiched between a third non-conductive layer and a fourth non-conductive layer that may define a second set of channels that may at least partially enclose a second conductive strip that may extend in a second direction. The first conductive strip and the second conductive strip may form a capacitor that may be configured to provide a capacitance indicative of a pressure applied to the capacitor.

A system and method for inductively providing electrical power at a plurality of power levels to electrical devices. The system may include an inductive power outlet unit conductively coupled to a power supply and an inductive power receiver unit associated with the electrical device. The inductive power outlet unit includes a driver device operable to generate power at a plurality of power levels and electrical power is transferred to the electrical device at a power level selected from the plurality of power levels, in accordance with electrical power requirements of the electrical device. The power receiver may be operable in a plurality of modes having a secondary inductor configured to operate selectively with a plurality of inductance values.

System and method for providing inductive power at multiple power levels

An inductive power outlet is disclosed. The inductive power outlet has a primary inductor, for wirelessly powering an inductive power receiver. The inductive power outlet has a secondary inductor. The primary inductor and the secondary inductor form a resonant frequency. The inductive power outlet comprises a driver generating an oscillating voltage to the primary coil at a frequency higher than the resonant frequency. The inductive power outlet comprises a signal detector. The signal detector comprises a peak detector configured to detect voltage peaks across the primary inductor or current peaks of a current supplied to the primary inductor. The signal detector comprises a processor configured to determine a frequency of either the voltage peaks or the current peaks.

System and method for coded communication signals regulating inductive power transmissions

A pressure sensing mat including a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer, and an insulative layer disposed therebetween. The first conductive layer includes a first plurality of spaced apart conductive paths and a first plurality of non-conductive paths therebetween and defining a plurality of gaps in the first plurality of non-conductive paths having a first repeating pattern of a cross shape. The first plurality of spaced apart conductive paths and the first plurality of non-conductive paths extend in a first direction. The second conductive layer includes a second plurality of spaced apart conductive paths and a second plurality of non-conductive paths therebetween and defining a second plurality of gaps in the second plurality of non-conductive paths having a second repeating pattern. The second plurality of spaced apart conductive paths and the second plurality of non-conductive paths extends in a second direction different than the first direction.

Anti-crinkling pressure sensing mat

A pinless power plug for receiving wireless power from a pinless power jack is disclosed. The pinless power plug may comprise at least one secondary coil for inductively coupling with a primary coil. The primary coil may be associated with the pinless power jack. The primary coil may be shielded behind an insulating layer. An inductive power outlet operable to transfer power to an inductive power receiver includes a driver wired to a primary inductive coil and operable to provide a driving voltage across the primary inductive coil. The primary inductive coil is configured to form an inductive couple having a characteristic resonant frequency with at least one secondary inductive coil wired to an electric load, the secondary inductive coil being associated with the inductive power receiver. The driving voltage oscillates at a transmission frequency substantially different from the characteristic resonant frequency of the inductive couple.

Transmission-guard system and method for an inductive power supply

A pressure sensing mat having first and second conductive layers and an insulative layer. The first conductive layer defines a first aperture and includes first spaced apart conductive regions and first non-conductive regions therebetween. The first spaced apart conductive regions and non-conductive regions extends in a first direction. The second conductive layer defines a second aperture and includes second spaced apart conductive regions and second non-conductive regions therebetween. The second spaced apart conductive regions and the second non-conductive regions extend in a second direction different than the first direction. The insulative layer is between the first and second conductive layers and defines a third aperture. The first, second, and third apertures are aligned with each other such that the first, second, and third apertures form a vent through the first and second conductive layers and the insulative layer.

A pinless power plug for receiving wireless power from a pinless power jack is disclosed The pinless power plug comprises at least one secondary coil for inductively coupling with a primary coil. The primary coil is associated with the pinless power jack. The primary coil is shielded behind an insulating layer. The pinless power jack comprises one or more magnetic anchors arranged around the at least one secondary coil in an annular configuration concentric with the at least one secondary coil. The one or more magnetic anchors are configured to magnetically couple with one or more magnetic snags in the pinless power jack. The one or more magnetic anchors are configured to magnetically couple with the one or more magnetic snags and maintain alignment between the at least one secondary coil and the primary coil.

An inductive power outlet for wirelessly powering a power receiver is presented that comprises a voltage peak detector that is configured to detect voltage changes that are indicative of increase in a system resonant frequency. The inductive power outlet is configured to respond to detected voltage changes by shutting down or issuing a warning, and the voltage peak detector is further used to detect communication signals initiated by the power receiver to the power outlet.
