A receiver assembly comprising a first and a second receiver housing and a spout. Multiple receiver assembly and a method for assembly thereof

A miniature receiver or transducer with improved viscous damping. The receiver may be a moving armature receiver using shearing forces for damping the deflection of the diaphragm. In this receiver, the damping element, which may be a liquid, extend in a direction of the deflection of the armature or diaphragm. Another embodiment relates to a transducer where the damping element engages the diaphragm.

A balanced armature apparatus is disclosed that includes dual transducers for generating sound waves in response to electric audio signals. The dual transducers include a motor assembly coupled to a diaphragm. A housing defines an interior chamber and the motor assembly and the diaphragm are positioned within the interior chamber. A pair of acoustic output ports is located in a respective end of the housing. A low pass acoustic filter is in communication with one of the acoustic output ports that is operable to attenuate a predetermined range of frequencies from an audio signal produced by one of the diaphragms.

A speaker module for a personal communication device includes two transducers for generating sound on the basis of an electrical signal. One transducer outputs sound to the surroundings from a sound output thereof and the other transducer outputs sound to the surroundings via the first transducer. In this manner, two transducers require only one sound output. The sound from the second transducer may be transmitted through and filtered by an opening in a diaphragm of the first transducer. Filtering elements may be provided between the two transducers.

Multiple receivers with a common spout

Method and apparatus are disclosed for reducing or eliminating the interference produced by a receiver in a listening device, such as a hearing aid. The method and apparatus of the invention involves placing an electrically conductive shield around the receiver. Such a shield helps suppress the electromagnetic signals emitted by the receiver, thereby reducing or eliminating the interference from the receiver. The shield is a passive shield and may be one or more wires that are wound around the receiver and shorted together, or it may be an electrically conductive mesh, jacket, sleeve, or the like, that is placed around the receiver. The shield is then connected either to one of the input terminals of the receiver, or to a system ground of the receiver.

Radio frequency shielding for receivers within hearing aids and listening devices

The present invention is a receiver that includes electronics for converting an input audio signal to an output acoustic signal. The receiver has a housing for containing at least a portion of the electronics. The housing includes a port for broadcasting the output acoustic signal. A suspension system is coupled to the housing for dampening vibrations of the housing. In one preferred embodiment, the suspension system includes three resilient contact structures for contacting a surrounding structure in which the receiver is placed. The contact structures are positioned at specific locations to provide variable dampening levels. In another embodiment, the dampening is provided by a low-viscosity, gel-like material positioned between the housing and the surrounding structure.

The present invention relates to an assembly comprising an electrical element, such as a coil, and especially to an assembly more easily assembled. Assemblies of this type are used for receivers for hearing aids or sound generators for e.g. mobile telephones.

An electroacoustic transducer having a housing with at least two parts, e.g., a cover and a bottom portion, and a diaphragm situated therein. Specifically and illustratively, an edge portion of the diaphragm is attached to one of two opposing edges of side walls of the cover and the bottom portion and, once the housing is assembled, is located between these edges. The edge to which the diaphragm is attached extends in a first plane defined by a central portion of the diaphragm or in a second plane parallel thereto.

A transducer which is particularly suitable for hearing aids is set forth which has improved resistance to mechanical shock. The transducer includes a coil having a tunnel, a magnetic member with a pair of magnets defining an air gap and an armature extending through the tunnel and into the air gap. The coil is rotated with respect to the magnetic member in a manner such that the coil forms a stop for the armature, thus preventing excessive deflection of the armature leg in the occurrence of a shock. The armature may also be provided with expanded edge portions which assist in limiting its deflection.

A transducer, in particular suitable for hearing aids, comprising a coil, two spaced magnet elements, a membrane, and a U-shaped armature, a first leg of the U-shaped armature extending through the coil and the two magnet elements and being coupled with the membrane by means of a connecting element, limiting means being provided for limiting the maximum deflection of the first leg of the armature, which limiting means are disposed on the connecting element.
