The disclosure relates to a valve assemblyfor controlling a volute connecting openingof a multi-channel turbine. The valve assemblycomprises a housing portion, a valve bodyand an internal lever. The housing portiondefines a first volute channel, a second volute channeland a volute connecting region. The housing portionfurther comprises a cavity. The cavityis separated from the volutesand can be accessed from outside the housing portionvia a housing openingwhich extends from outside the housing portioninto the cavity. The volute connection regionis located between the first volute channeland the second volute channeland defines a volute connecting opening.
