A volumetric compensator assembly for use in the seal section of a pumping system includes an envelope bladder that in turn includes a flexible top sheet and a bottom sheet connected to the top sheet along a pair of side seams and an end seam. The top sheet and bottom sheet together define a bladder interior that has a variable capacity. The volumetric compensator assembly also has a bladder support tube and the envelope bladder is coiled around the bag support tube.

A sealing system for a multi-stage turbine includes multiple first interstage seal subsystems disposed circumferentially about a rotor wheel shaft of the multi-stage turbine and extending axially between a first turbine stage and a second turbine stage of the multi-stage turbine. Each of the first interstage seal subsystems includes multiple near flow path seal segments. The first interstage seal subsystem also includes a forward coverplate disposed axially between a first turbine wheel of the first turbine stage and the near flow path seal segment and an aft coverplate disposed axially between the near flow path seal segment and a second turbine wheel of the second turbine stag. Further, each of the forward coverplate and the aft coverplate extends radially to a first stage bucket and a second stage bucket respectively.

An electric submersible pumping system for use in pumping fluids from a wellbore includes a motor, a pump driven by the motor, and a fluid expansion module connected to the motor. The fluid expansion module includes a piston seal housing and a piston assembly contained within the piston seal housing. The piston assembly includes a piston body having an exterior surface, a plurality of seals connected to the exterior surface of the piston body and a pressure equalization system. The pressure equalization system reduces a pressure differential between fluid in an annular space between the plurality of seals and fluid surrounding the first piston assembly.

A sealing system for a multi-stage turbine includes multiple interstage seal segments disposed circumferentially about a turbine rotor wheel assembly and extending axially between a forward turbine stage and an aft turbine stage. Each of the interstage seal segments includes a forward end portion including an outer seal surface and an inner support face, an aft end portion, including an outer seal surface and an inner support face and a main body portion extending axially from the forward end portion to the aft end. The main body portion includes at least two support webs coupling the outer seal surfaces and the inner support faces. The outer seal surfaces are configured to be retained in a radial direction by a land support on each of a forward and aft stage turbine buckets, such that substantially all the centrifugal load from the multiple interstage seal segments is transferred to the forward and aft stage turbine buckets. A method of assembling the sealing system is disclosed.

Bucket mounted multi-stage turbine interstage seal and method of assembly

A seal assembly for a submersible pumping system is presented. The seal assembly includes a housing and a support tube disposed within the housing. Further, the seal assembly includes a shape memory alloy (SMA) foil disposed within the housing, surrounding the support tube to define a first chamber between the shape memory alloy foil and the support tube. The first chamber is configured to store a motor fluid, and wherein the shape memory alloy foil is configured to restrict a flow of a wellbore fluid to the motor fluid.

Seal assembly for a submersible pumping system and an associated method thereof

The embodiments described herein provide a cloth seal for use with turbine components. The cloth seal includes first and second cloth layers. One or more central shims are positioned between the first and second cloth layers so as to block a leakage flow path. Another shim is positioned on and seals the opposite side of the first cloth layer from the one or more central shims positioned between the first and second cloth layers so as to block another leakage flow path. Yet another sealing shim may be positioned on the opposite side of the second cloth layer from the one or more central shims positioned between the first and second cloth layers to as to seal the opposite side of the second cloth layer and block another leakage flow path.

The present application and the resultant patent provide improved gas turbine component sealing. In one example embodiment, a shank assembly may include a component shank with a platform including a first slash face. The shank assembly may include a seal pin slot extending into the first slash face, the seal pin slot having a slot length and a depth, and a seal pin disposed in the seal pin slot, the seal pin having a rounded end positioned adjacent to an end of the seal pin slot.

A gas lift valve assembly includes a housing and a check valve. The housing defines an inlet port and an outlet port, and includes an inner casing having a radial outer surface and a radial inner surface at least partially defining a main flow passage. The check valve includes a sealing mechanism disposed around the radial outer surface of the inner casing, and a valve member including an outwardly extending sealing segment. The valve member is moveable between an open position and a closed position in which the sealing segment sealingly engages the sealing mechanism.

This disclosure details methods and techniques for inhibiting natural gas hydrate formation in gas conduits. In one embodiment, an article is provided which comprises (a) a gas conduit defining a gas flow channel; (b) an interior surface of the gas conduit; (c) a hydrate inhibiting coating on the interior surface, wherein the coating comprises: (i) component A, a one- or two-part room temperature vulcanizable polyorganosiloxane composition comprising a surface-treated filler, a condensation catalyst, and a crosslinking agent; and any reaction products thereof; and optionally (ii) component B, a hydrate release-enhancing proportion of at least one polyorganosiloxane comprising one or more silanol or alkoxy-silyl groups and comprising from about 10 weight percent to about 85 weight percent of at least one hydroxy-terminated or alkoxy-terminated polyoxyalkylenealkyl radical; and optionally (iii) any reaction products thereof.

The present invention provides a cloth seal for use with turbine components. The cloth seal may include a number of cloth layers, a shim positioned between the cloth layers, and an end seal positioned at an end of the cloth layers so as to block a leakage flow path through at least one of the cloth layers.
