An apparatus comprises a first detector mounted on a sliding bar and an electromagnetic source including a collimator to generate an exposure window. The apparatus comprises a control system configured to slide linearly the first detector along the sliding bar and synchronously move the collimator to direct the exposure window to the first detector. The movements of the exposure window are registered to movements of the first detector.

Digital radiographic device having a linear scanner

A portable device receives an encrypted message from an electronic health record database server including a request to perform a biometric authentication to approve a transaction. The device prompts a user to speak a pass phrase. The device creates a set of variables including the pass phrase and at least one more variable characterizing the spoken voice. The authentication module transmits an encrypted message to the health record database server including a session identification information and the set of variables. In response, the device receives an encrypted message from the health record database server determining whether the biometric authentication is successful and the transaction is approved, wherein determination is made by the health record database server and is based on verifying the session identification information, the pass phrase, and the user identity.

Secure and mobile biometric authentication for electronic health record management

An x-ray imaging apparatus comprises a platform connected to a frame, a sliding bar, a detector mounted on the sliding bar, an x-ray source, and a control system. The x-ray source includes a collimator to generate an x-ray exposure window. The control system is configured to slide the detector along the sliding bar and synchronously move the collimator to direct the x-ray exposure window to the first detector. The x-ray exposure window movements are registered to the detector movements. The detector interfaces with a processor that processes x-ray image data received from the detector, and generates at least one x-ray image from the x-ray image data.

A video imaging system for use with or in a mobile video capturing system (e.g., an airplane or UAV). A multi-camera rig containing a number of cameras (e.g., 4) receives a series of mini-frames (e.g., from respective field steerable mirrors (FSMs)). The mini-frames received by the cameras are supplied to (1) an image registration system that calibrates the system by registering relationships corresponding to the cameras and/or (2) an image processor that processes the mini-frames in real-time to produce a video signal. The cameras can be infra-red (IR) cameras or other electro-optical cameras. By creating a rigid model of the relationships between the mini-frames of the plural cameras, real-time video stitching can be accelerated by reusing the movement relationship of a first mini-frame of a first camera on corresponding mini-frames of the other cameras in the system.

System and method for providing temporal-spatial registration of images

A method for collecting data of species in the magnetosphere includes the steps of: (a) tuning at least one laser to spectral indices of targeted atomic or molecular species located in the magnetosphere; and (b) measuring fluorescence radiation from each of the targeted species, in response to the tuning step. The method determines range to each of the targeted species. The method geo-locates the species with respect to the Earth to provide a registered map of the targeted species in three dimensions (3D) with respect to the Earth; and temporally trends each of the targeted species to provide the registered map in four dimensions (4D). The method may also determine abundance from multiple wavelengths returned from the fluorescence radiation of the targeted species.

System and method of visualization of species characterization, dynamics and stratification of the magnetosphere

Light detection and ranging (LIDAR) imaging systems, method, and computer readable media for generating super-resolved images are described. Super-resolved images are generated by obtaining data sets of cloud points representing multiple views of an object where the views have a view shift, enhancing the views by duplicating cloud points within each of the data sets, compensating for the view shift using the enhanced views, identifying valid cloud points, and generating a super-resolved image of the object by integrating valid cloud points within the compensated, enhanced views.

Methods, apparatus, and systems for super resolution of LIDAR data sets

A system for identifying at least one species in space includes a physical response module for outputting multiple spectral data based on received signals from a target in space; a calibration module for receiving the spectral data and outputting a first dataset, including density of an {x, y, z} coordinate location in space as a function of time, t; and a classification module for receiving the first dataset, and outputting a second dataset including multiple tuples of {x, y, z, t, d} associated with the at least one species, wherein d is density of the at least one species. Also included is an HD processor for receiving the second dataset from the classification module and providing a visual image of the second dataset to a user.

A system for registration of images includes a processor for receiving a temporal sequence of frames from multiple cameras viewing a region of interest. The temporal sequence of frames obtained by one camera is precisely timed to the temporal sequence of frames obtained by the other cameras. The processor modifies the temporal sequence of frames into a hierarchical sequence of frames. The hierarchical sequence of frames includes at least first and second levels. The processor registers frames belonging in the first level separately from frames belonging in the second level. The first level includes frames having a first amount of pixel overlap between one frame and another frame, and the second level includes frames having a second amount of pixel overlap between one frame and another frame. The first amount of pixel overlap is greater than the second amount of pixel overlap. The system may also include a third level of frames, in which the third level includes frames having a third amount of pixel overlap between one frame and another frame. The third amount of pixel overlap is smaller than the first amount or the second amount.

Photogrammetric method and system for stitching and stabilizing camera images

For dental and facial imaging, a source of x-rays () or other penetrating radiation and a detector () are mounted opposite one another on a rotatable gantry (), so that the head of the patient can be positioned between the source () and the detector (), with the axis of rotation () of the gantry passing through the patient's head. The detector or the source are mounted so they can translate and/or pivot horizontally or vertically. The gantry is angulated so that the source or the detector may not be at the same height relative to the patient's head. The gantry can telescope, moving the source and the detector closer together or further apart. The collimator changes dynamically with the motion of the gantry and/or the source and detector to scan a smaller portion of the scan field.

Systems and methods for detecting objects and weather in space are disclosed. A system for detecting an object in space and space weather includes at least one spacecraft, at least one radiation source, at least one detector, and a controller. The at least one radiation source and the at least one detector are coupled to the at least one spacecraft. The at least one radiation source is configured to transmit a signal. The at least one detector is configured to detect the signal. The signal may be reflected from an object in space. The controller is coupled to the spacecraft and is in communication with the plurality of detectors. The controller is programmed to calculate either a relative position of the object based or a plasma parameter in a region traversed by the signal based on the detected signal.

Systems and methods for space situational awareness and space weather

A method and apparatus for locating an elongated object in a three dimensional data array are disclosed. A slice of data generally lengthways of the elongated object is selected. Points on the object in the selected slice are identified. Data including the points are transposed parallel to the slice and transversely to the elongated object to align the points in a direction parallel to the slice and transverse to the elongated object. A current slice is selected that is rotated around the length direction of the object relative to the previously selected slice. The identifying and transposing are repeated to align points on the object in a direction parallel to the current slice and transverse to the elongated object.

Locating an elongated object in a three-dimensional data array

In a method and apparatus for locating in a three dimensional data array an arcuate object having an axial extent, slices of data generally transverse to the axial extent of the object are selected. Rays generally radially of the arcuate object are selected within the slices. Crossing points where the rays cross the boundaries of the arcuate object are located. The position of the arcuate object is determined from the positions of the located points.

Method for locating a curved object

An apparatus for generating a panoramic image of part of a target, the apparatus including a source of penetrating radiation and a detector aligned with the source of penetrating radiation. The detector and source of penetrating radiation are rotate-able together with respect to the target. The detector has an array of radiation sensors arranged in rows and columns and is configured to output contents of each radiation sensor in the array of radiation sensors. The apparatus also includes a computer connected to the detector and configured to generate a panoramic image by combining data from sensors in the same row in different columns in different readout intervals, corresponding to different positions of the detector as it rotates with respect to the target. The combined outputs are selected to represent rays of radiation passing through a point on a defined curve. The computer is further configured to alter the defined curve and generate a second panoramic image using the altered curve and combing data from the sensor a second time.
