A composition of matter is provided comprising hierarchically ordered crystalline microporous material having well-defined long-range mesoporous ordering of cubic symmetry. The composition possesses mesopores having walls of crystalline microporous material and a mass of mesostructure between mesopores of crystalline microporous material. Long-range ordering is defined by presence of secondary peaks in an X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern and/or cubic symmetry observable by microscopy.

The present disclosure is directed to a method of manufacture of zeolite. A sol-gel formulation includes a water-soluble fraction of ODSO as an additional component. The resulting products include zeolite with increased crystallinity relative to comparable sol-gel formulations without ODSO as a precursor. In additional embodiments, the rate of crystallization of the zeolite is greater relative to comparable sol-gel formulations without ODSO.

Disclosed are methods and systems for quantitation of benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, o-xylene, m-xylene, and p-xylene in aromatics recovery complexes. High-performance liquid chromatography using a carbon stationary phase and a gradient mobile phase is performed. The carbon stationary phase can be a porous graphitic carbon stationary phase. The mobile phase includes an organic acid in water and an alcohol. The organic acid can include formic acid, and the alcohol can include methanol. The methods and systems achieve a resolution between xylene isomer peaks of greater than 2.0 when sampling industrial process streams in aromatic recovery complexes.

The present disclosure is directed to a method of manufacture of CHA framework crystalline materials of silica and a framework metal oxide, with the ability to reduce the amount of structure directing agent needed for synthesis. This is accomplished by using an improved sol-gel formulation including a water-soluble fraction of ODSO as an additional component. The resulting products include CHA framework crystalline materials of silica and a framework metal oxide, whereby a framework metal oxide can be an oxide of Al, Fe, B or Ga.

In the method, a standard chemical reactor or reactors is/are provided, and a bypass means is also provided, to transport a sample of whatever is added to the industrial reactor, to the test reactor. Both gases and liquids are transferred to the test reactor.

A process for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed includes contacting the hydrocarbon feed with hydrogen in the presence of a ring opening catalyst in a naphthene conversion unit, the contacting causing naphthenes in the hydrocarbon feed to react to produce a converted effluent comprising isoparaffins and normal paraffins. The process includes separating the converted effluent in a paraffin separation system to produce an isoparaffin-rich stream and an n-paraffin-rich stream. The process includes contacting the isoparaffin-rich stream with hydrogen in the presence of an isomerization catalyst in a reverse isomerization unit, the contacting causing isomerization to produce an isomerate comprising an equilibrium mixture of normal paraffins and isoparaffins. The process include separating the isomerate in the paraffin separation system to produce the isoparaffin-rich stream and the n-paraffin-rich stream, and passing the n-paraffin-rich stream to a steam cracker to produce a cracker effluent comprising olefins.

Systems and processes for producing ethylene from naphtha and butanes

Systems and methods are disclosed for providing virtual assays of an oil sample such as crude oil based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy carried out on the oil sample, and the density of the oil sample. The virtual assay provides a full range of information about fractions of the oil sample including naphtha, gas oil, vacuum gas oil, vacuum residue, and other information about the properties of the oil sample. Using the system and method herein, the virtual assay data pertaining to these several fractions of the oil sample and the oil sample itself are obtained without fractionation of the oil sample into the several components.

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a process for producing methanol and hydrocarbon products comprises: generating hydrogen gas and carbon dioxide in a hydrogen production unit; hydroprocessing a hydrocarbon feedstock stream using the hydrogen gas, thereby producing hydrocarbon products and waste hydrogen gas; and contacting the waste hydrogen gas with the carbon dioxide in a hydrogenation unit, thereby producing methanol and product hydrogen gas.

Integrated hydrocracking and carbon dioxide hydrogenation to produce oxygenated and hydrocarbon fuels

Method of producing pyrolysis products from mixed plastics along with an associated system for processing mixed plastics. The method includes conducting pyrolysis of a plastic feedstock to produce plastic pyrolysis oil; feeding the plastic pyrolysis oil to a first fractionator to separate the plastic pyrolysis oil into a distillate fraction including naphtha and diesel and a vacuum gas oil fraction; and feeding the distillate fraction to a three step hydrotreating operation. The three step hydrotreating operation includes feeding the distillate fraction to a first hydrotreating unit to remove di-olefins to produce a first product stream, feeding the first product stream to a second hydrotreating unit to remove mono-olefins to produce a second product stream; and feeding the second product stream to a third hydrotreating unit to remove sulfur and nitrogen by hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation to produce a third product stream. Such system may be integrated with a conventional refinery.

Method of producing pyrolysis products from a mixed plastics stream and integration of the same in a refinery

A composition comprising a promotor component is disclosed comprising a mixture of one or more catalytically active components and one or more oxidized disulfide oil (ODSO) compounds, including a water-soluble fraction of ODSO. A composition comprising an aqueous solution of one or more catalytically active components and a promotor component is also disclosed. In certain embodiments the ODSO is obtained from the effluent of an enhanced MEROX process. The compositions facilitate transfer of catalytically active components (or components that will be catalytically active in the finished solid catalyst material) onto the surface of support materials.
