A short wave infrared (SWIR) imaging system and method of using the same is provided for assessing a tissue damage depth and/or readiness for reconstruction and/or debridement. The SWIR imaging system includes a light source for illuminating the wound or burn, an image light-registering camera system having at least one narrow-band SWIR filter to image the wound or burn and output imaging information, and a detection system for receiving the imaging information and processing the imaging information to determine a tissue damage depth and/or readiness for reconstruction and/or debridement assessment.

Short wave infrared bedside or intra operative assessment of wound or burn depth at dry-wet layers and readiness for reconstruction

Techniques are provided that identify and localize on to reentrant and ectopic patterns of electrical activation in the heart wall. These patterns may correspond to atrial fibrillation, ventricular fibrillation, or other heart arrhythmia conditions. The techniques detect these patterns of electrical activity using a multi-lead an intra-cavitary catheter that, along with a controller, is able to track, over a multi-dimensional cubic space, reentrant activity and identify filaments in the heart cavity. The intra-cavitary catheter includes multiple conducting poles positioned in a configuration relative to each other and functioning as either or both sensing and active poles for measuring electrical pathways in the heart wall and over the multi-dimensional space.

Catheter and method to localize ectopic and reentrant activity in the heart

A multiple-point basket-type or crown-shaped catheter device provides simultaneously mapping over a three-dimensional (3D) region of a subject, such as, one or more chambers of a subject's heart. The catheter device may include a series of splines each having a wave-like profile formed of a periodic series of peaks and troughs, with electrodes located at the peaks and troughs for mapping purposes.

Method and system for mapping and analyzing cardiac electrical activity

An atrial fibrillation classification system collects celectrocardiogram signals and converts them to a frequency, time, or phase domain representation for analysis. An evaluation stage extracts energy density profile over a range of frequencies, time intervals, or phases, which is then summed and normalized to form dispersion metrics. The system then analyzes the dispersion metrics, in their respective domains, to determine whether a patient is experiencing an arrhythmia and then to classify the type of arrhythmia being experienced.
