This disclosure describes a power system that includes a first compressor with an air inlet and a compressed air outlet; a nitrogen separator coupled to the compressed air outlet, the nitrogen separator comprising a nitrogen concentrate outlet and a byproduct outlet; a second compressor coupled to the nitrogen concentrate outlet, the second compressor having a high pressure outlet for supplying high pressure concentrated nitrogen to an underground storage; and a turbine generator with an inlet for high pressure concentrated nitrogen for coupling to an underground storage.

A fluid monitoring system includes, a channel having a first end configured to be fluidly coupled to a first portion of a conduit of a mineral extraction system to enable fluid to flow from the conduit into the channel and a second end configured to be fluidly coupled to a second portion of the conduit to enable return of the fluid from the channel into the conduit. The system also includes an actuator assembly positioned along the channel and configured to isolate a portion of the fluid within a chamber of the actuator assembly. The actuator assembly is configured to expand a volume of the chamber to reduce a pressure while the portion of the fluid is within the chamber to facilitate identification of an indicator of dissolved gas within the fluid.

A method of testing a shape-memory alloy (SMA) coupler for use within an oil and gas environment at an operating pressure includes testing a first specimen of an SMA coupler design for the operating pressure according to a first test sequence comprising a first plurality of tests and testing a second specimen of the SMA coupler design for the operating pressure according to a second test sequence comprising a second plurality of tests. The method further includes approving the SMA coupler design for use within an oil and gas application at the operating pressure if the first specimen passes each of the first plurality of tests of the first test sequence and the second specimen passes each of the second plurality of tests of the second test sequence.

Methods for testing shape-memory alloy couplers for oil and gas applications

A paddle wheel flow meter designed for measuring the flow rate of a viscous or debris-laden fluid with fewer parts, higher durability and simplicity of servicing. The flow meter includes a housing including a flow bore and an insert body with an integral rotor shaft. The insert body is removably insertable into the housing. A rotor includes rotor blades and is attached to the rotor shaft so as to be at least partially located in the flow bore such that flow of the fluid causes the rotor to rotate. A sensor unit generates a signal indicative of the rotational rate of the rotor, which can be used to determine the flow rate of the fluid.

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a composite crosshead. The composite crosshead comprises a crosshead body made of a first composite material, wherein the first composite material comprises a first reinforcing material distributed in a first matrix material, wherein the composite crosshead is configured to move in a reciprocating motion in a machine.

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a compression cylinder configured to mount to a reciprocating compressor. The compression cylinder includes an intake port and a discharge port. The system also includes a piston assembly disposed within the compression cylinder. The piston assembly includes a piston, and a flow control member extending from the piston. The flow control member is configured to selectively block the intake port and the discharge port upon movement of the piston assembly relative to the compression cylinder.

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a piston clamping system including a piston rod comprising a piston rod shoulder and a piston rod nut coupled to the piston rod, wherein the piston rod nut and the piston rod shoulder are configured to axially capture first and second body portions of a piston therebetween.

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a crosshead having a crosshead body, a recess formed in an outer surface of the crosshead body, and a lubricant port extending through the crosshead body from the recess to an aperture of the crosshead, wherein the crosshead is configured to move in a reciprocating motion in a machine.
