An easy-to-manufacture wide-band antenna arrangement and a kitchen appliance including this antenna arrangement are provided. A resonating part of the antenna arrangement has a flat shape, its outer edges have an elliptical curvature and a coaxial cable is located at a feed in a slit in the middle of the resonating plate. The resonating plate is parallel to a ground plane, and together those parts form a planar inverted-F antenna. Such an antenna is useful in combination with a kitchen hob and sensor applications that wirelessly communicate with the kitchen hob, e.g. for improving cooking results.

Antenna arrangement and kitchen apparatus

A microwave oven includes an oven muffle, a high-frequency oscillator for generating microwaves propagating within the oven muffle, an opening within the muffle wall of the oven muffle for passing a rotatable shaft of a motor through the muffle wall, and an element for suppressing microwave leakage through the opening. The element for suppressing microwave leakage is arranged at a distance to the muffle wall by a motor mounting element bearing the motor, such that there is no direct physical contact between the muffle wall and the suppression element.

Microwave oven

A door for a microwave appliance. The door includes an outer glass panel ranging over a complete outer side of the door and an inner glass panel ranging over at least a central portion of an inner side of the door. The door includes a door frame covering at least the circumferential sides of the oven door and a wave choke system. The outer glass panel, the inner glass panel and the door frame form a casing of the door, wherein the wave choke system is arranged inside the casing of the door. The wave choke system is arranged in an outer portion of the interior of the door and circumferentially enclosed by the door frame. The wave choke system is arranged adjacent to an outer side of the inner glass panel.
