An autonomous retail system (ARS) can provide a convenient way for a manufacturer or vendor to sell products or services, and an equally convenient way for a customer to find and purchase the same. Users of an ARS may make concurrent orders via a user device for concurrent transaction processing by the ARS. An ARS may determine whether another ARS may be better suited to transact an order if the other ARS has fewer users waiting to place orders. In some embodiments, a map to the better-suited ARS may be presented by the ARS or provided for the user device to present. The map may include an indication of the better-suited ARS(es) and paths to them.

Multi-user support and multi-node coordination for automated retail apparatuses, one or more non-transitory computer-readable media, and systems

Techniques for operating an autonomous retail system (ARS) are discussed herein. An ARS may include input devices, output devices, input-output (I/O) devices, and an inventory of items. The ARS may send or receive connection request with user equipment, such as a mobile device, and a connection may be established between the user equipment and the ARS. Techniques for identifying and authenticating the user equipment are discussed herein. The ARS may cause a display of the inventory of items on a display of the user equipment. The display of the ARS may be mirrored on the display of the user equipment. A user, via the user equipment, may provide indication(s) including a selection of an action such as a purchase action and selection of an item based on the action. Based on the indication(s), the ARS may dispense the item to the user. Scheduling techniques are discussed for the ARS to provide service to multiple customers.

Mirrored display and proximal control of autonomous retail systems

Systems and methods for location-aware scanning of an IoT beacon by a mobile device, and the authentication of the mobile device, are disclosed herein. The system detects when the mobile device is within a geofenced region associated with the IoT beacon and enables the scanning by the mobile device for signals from the beacon. Using the beacon signals received by the mobile device, the system detects when the mobile device and IoT beacon are sufficiently near one another. Once the mobile device and IoT beacon are sufficiently near each other, the system authenticates control of the mobile device over the IoT beacon by verifying an authentication key transmitted to a server.

Location-aware beacon scanning and authentication for secure control of IoT applications

The disclosed technology includes a health engine that monitors and modifies customer-premises equipment (CPE) devices. The health engine can detect patterns in CPE device behavior, identify problems with CPE devices, and adjust CPE device configurations proactively or reactively to address problems or prevent problems. In some implementations, the health engine can instruct a CPE device or gateway to restart, update its software or firmware, notify a user of the CPE device of an unhealthy behavior pattern in a CPE device. The health engine can modify a CPE device prior to a user using the device or when the CPE device is inactive.

Proactive and reactive management for devices in a network

Systems and methods for providing E911 services to a publicly-switched telephone network (PSTN) phone are described. In some embodiments, the systems and methods determine that the PSTN phone is connected to a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) adapter, identify an internet protocol (IP) address for an access point via which the adapter accesses an IP Multimedia System (IMS) network, determine a geographical location associated with the IP address, and enable E911 communications for the PSTN phone over the IMS network via the adapter based on the geographical location.

A method of multi-factor authentication is performed by an access control device. In response to detecting a voice command, the access control device sends a query to a location server for a current location of a user equipment (UE) included in a list of trusted UEs. The access control device may then receive an indication of the current location from the location server and in response thereto, the access control device may determine whether the current location of the UE is within a threshold distance of the access control device. If so, the access control device may generate an access signal that indicates that a user associated with the UE is authorized to access a protected resource.

A method of multi-factor authentication is performed by an access control device. In response to detecting a beacon signal transmitted by a user equipment (UE) via a short-range radio access technology (RAT) the access control device sends a query to a location server for a current location of the UE. The access control device then determines whether the UE is within a threshold distance of the access control device and, if so, begins monitoring a signal strength of one or more beacon signals transmitted by the UE. If the signal strength of the one or more beacon signals exceeds a signal strength threshold, then the access control device may generate an access signal to indicate that a user associated with the UE is authorized to access a protected resource.

Multi-factor authentication with geolocation and short-range communication

Systems and methods for implementing an in-store kiosk device as part of a retail reinvention and self-help care portal are disclosed. The in-store kiosk device may allow a consumer to self-diagnose problems with electronic devices, such as smart phones, and to seek technical or service related assistance with appropriate experts. The in-store kiosk device may also facilitate initiating a communication between the consumer and multiple experts, to help resolve any consumer technical or sales queries. In some examples, the in-store kiosk device has the added advantage of providing consumers with a means to have service or inventory-related issues addressed without having to wait for available in-store service staff. The in-store kiosk device may also facilitate electronic device exchange.

Access to real-time communication services associated with real-time communication addresses may be provided based on a user account. A user logging in to a user account on one computing device may be provided with access to real-time communication services associated with a real-time communication address even when that real-time communication address is a real-time communication address for another device. Once logged in, the user may receive or initiate real-time communications for that real-time communication address at the computing device. The user may also add another real-time communication address that is not specific to any device to the user account. Communications to the other real-time communication address are routed to whatever device the user is logged in to. Also, the user may download a wireless communication application to a computing device to provide access to real-time communications over a telecommunication network that might otherwise be unavailable.

User account-based access to real-time communications

Systems and methods for adapting traditional landline telephones to make and receive Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls and other communications are described. In some embodiments, an adapter, adaptor, or other device or apparatus connects an IP router, such as a WiFi router or other access point, to a traditional landline telephone (e.g., a phone using dual-tone multi-frequency, or DTMF, signaling), enabling the traditional landline phone to make and/or receive VoIP calls.

A method of controlling user access to a protected area is performed by an access control device. In response to detecting a beacon signal transmitted by a user equipment (UE) via a short-range radio access technology (RAT) the access control device determines whether the UE is within the protected area or in an exterior area that is outside the protected area. In some aspects, the access control device determines whether the UE is within the protected area or in the exterior area based on the received beacon signal. In response to determining that the UE is in the exterior area, the access control device performs a multi-factor authentication procedure. If the access control device determines that the UE is within the protected area, the access control device is configured to deny access to the protected area.
