A media muxer node () of a local network () is configured to time-shift a live media stream, by storing the stream on a local network storage () during a pause, and providing the stored and time-shifted stream to a local network-UE () after the pause. The pausing and the resuming of the media stream can be initiated from an external network-connected UE () outside the local network, or directly from the local network UE (). The system also comprises a media aggregating node () for authentication of the external network&#x2014;connected UE (), which are both connected to a virtual control node (). If a pause in the replay is discovered, the media muxer node () sees to the storage of the media in a local network storage () until the discovery of a restart command.

Time-shifting of a live media stream

A remote-controlled recording of selected linear media, e.g. a TV program, on a Recording device () belonging to a first subscriber (Subscriber A). The recording is remote-controlled from a Media Management server (), e.g. an IPTV Backend, and initiated from a User equipment () belonging to a different subscriber (Subscriber B), wherein Subscriber B must be authorized by Subscriber A to access the Recording device. The authorization is checked by the Media management server, e.g. from a Friends list or an Access list stored in the Media management server, or in an external social network-node.
