The invention relates to an injection device for injecting a selectable dose of a liquid substance from an ampoule, located in an ampoule holder, comprising a piston and a sleeve-shaped mechanism holder, mechanically coupled thereto, in the interior of which a longitudinally shiftable shaft is provided which acts on the ampoule.

Injection device

A multi-chamber ampoule comprises a container having at least one movable partition therein, the movable partition being adapted to sealingly isolate at least two substances to be mixed with each other, a seal or plunger movably disposed in the container, a holder connected to the container, and a screw actuator engageable with the seal or plunger for displacing the same in the container. The screw actuator has a male thread, and the holder includes a female thread engageable with the screw actuator male thread. The screw actuator is provided with a bore therethrough for slidably receiving a dispensing rod.

An injection device for injecting a preselectable dose of a liquid substance from an ampoule (,) with a stopper (,) located in an ampoule-holder (,) has a sleeve-shaped mechanism holder (,) mechanically linked to the stopper (,) and containing a sliding rod (,) which acts on the ampoule (,). The sliding rod (,) is surrounded by a sliding sleeve (,) mechanically coupled to the ampoule (,) and closed at its upper end by a lid (,). A dosing sleeve (,) is provided with a stepped member (,) arranged at the upper end of the mechanism holder (,) to preselect the dose of liquid substance to be injected. The dose to be administered can be adjusted by turning the dosing sleeve (,) provided with the stepped member (,).

An injection cartridge of the dual-chamber type, which comprises a cylindrical cartridge barrel having a front chamber for a solid product and a rear chamber for a liquid product. The chambers are sealingly separated by a displaceable piston of a resilient material, and have an openable bypass connection for liquid from the rear chamber to the front chamber and a resilient sealing closure of the front end of the front chamber.

A piston (11) to be used in displacing a liquid inside a cylindrical chamber, such as in an injection cartridge of the dual-chamber type, has at least one of its end surfaces (12) shaped convex such that said end surface or surfaces (12) are essentially planar when the piston has been arranged inside the barrel of said cartridge. Preferably both pistons in the cartridge have such a shape, their planar surfaces facing each other.
