A process for manufacturing a packaging film that is transparent to UV light and has a barrier action against water vapor and gases. The packaging film includes a substrate film of a polyolefin or polyamide with a ceramic coating layer of SiO , where x is a number from 1.5 to 1.8. The thickness of the ceramic coating layer is 10 nm to 2 &mgr;m. The ceramic coating layer of SiO is deposited onto the polyolefin or polyamide substrate film using a vacuum thin film deposition process by depositing silicon oxide (SiO ) and elementary silicon (Si) simultaneously in vacuum.

Process for manufacturing packaging film

A pouch for a pharmaceutical, cosmetic, medical or similar product, with a structure having a top laminate and a bottom laminate. A pouch enclosure for the product is formed in one portion of the structure. The top laminate and the bottom laminate of the pouch enclosure portion are strongly adhered together in the periphery around the pouch enclosure. A flap portion is formed by the remainder of the structure with a portion of the involved region of the top laminate and a portion of the involved region of the bottom laminate are weakly adhered together and are easily pulled apart. Arrangement for separating the flap portion and the pouch enclosure is situated at the interface between the flap portion and the pouch enclosure portion. A notch or slot is located in the strongly adhered periphery of the pouch enclosure portion adjacent to the flap portion. The flap portion is larger than the pouch enclosure portion. Both sides of the top laminate and of the bottom laminate are capable of being printed on.

Pharmaceutical packaging with separation means

Packaging for tablets, capsules and the like pharmaceutical products, that is child-proof and user friendly for senior citizen, is in the form of a blister pack (12), with at least one cup (24) which accommodates the tablet (20) closed off by a push-through foil lid (26), situated in an outer packaging (10) between a base part (14) and a cover part (16). The cover part (16) is covered over by a closure part (18) such that the lid foil (16) on the blister pack (12) faces the cover part (16) and the cover part (16) features an outlet opening (32) in line with the cup (24) in the blister pack (10). A cover strip (34) which is arranged between the base part (14) and the cover part (16) covers the outlet opening (32), can be removed on opening the closure part (18) thus exposing the outlet opening (32).

Childproof packaging for tablets

A packaging film which is transparent to UV light and has a barrier action against water vapor and gases features at least one substrate layer of a polyolefin or polyamide with a ceramic coating of SiO.sub.x, where x is a number from 1.5 to 2 and the thickness of the ceramic layer is 10 nm to 2 .mu.m. The packaging film is suitable for packaging basic and luxury foodstuffs that are sterilized in the packaged condition by radiation with UV light.

Stretch-formable metal-plastic composite laminate, for example for the production of containers, the laminate having a metal layer and a plastic layer on both sides of the metal layer, the metal layer having a thickness x and the plastic layers each having a thickness of 0.7 x to 1.4 x, and x being a thickness of 30 to 70 .mu.m, and the plastic layers containing thermoplastics based on olefin, for example polypropylene, or consisting of them.
