A perfusion system includes a fluid reservoir configured to hold a portion of fluid, the portion of fluid having a volume, the fluid reservoir having a total capacity that is greater than the volume; an imaging device, the imaging device configured to obtain image data corresponding to the fluid reservoir; and a controller. The controller is configured to receive the image data from the imaging device; determine the volume based on the image data; and facilitate control, in response to at least one of a user input and the determined volume of the portion of fluid, of an operating parameter corresponding to the fluid reservoir to facilitate changing or maintaining the volume of the portion of the fluid.

Optical level control system

The present application relates to a method for disinfection of a temperature control device for human body temperature control during extracorporeal circulation which temperature control is conducted by use of a heat exchanger and a temperature control liquid circulating through the heat exchanger and the temperature control device. According to the present application, the temperature control device is connected to a temperature control liquid supply and, during operation of the temperature control device for human body temperature control, a disinfectant is selectively added to the temperature control liquid supply upstream of the temperature control device.

Method and apparatus for disinfection of a temperature control device for human body temperature control during extracorporeal circulation

Embodiments include a vacuum assisted venous drainage (VAVD) system, including a regulator valve assembly configured to facilitate application of vacuum to a reservoir; a control unit configured to control the regulator valve assembly to facilitate controlling application of the vacuum; at least one pressure sensor coupled to the reservoir and configured to obtain pressure measurements of pressure in the reservoir; a heating element configured to heat the regulator valve assembly to a target temperature; and at least one temperature sensor configured to determine a temperature of the regulator valve assembly.

VAVD regulator contamination and condensation control

A system () including a heater/cooler module () to heat/cool a first fluid in a primary circuit (), a heat transfer fluid circuit () to provide a second fluid to a target device () to heat/cool the target device (), and a heat exchanger () including at least part of the primary circuit () and at least part of a secondary circuit () through which the second fluid flows to facilitate heat transfer between the first fluid and the second fluid. The primary circuit () and the secondary circuit () are separate circuits and the first fluid and the second fluid remain separated in the system. Also, the system is modular, such that the elements can be stacked to increase heating/cooling capability and/or to increase the number of heating/cooling channels, and the system is compatible with portable applications, such as ambulance, aircraft, and helicopter applications, and with battery operation and/or the use of uninterruptible power supplies.
