A monitoring-and-control drawer () for an electrical connection enclosure comprises a front part () comprising a ventilation grille (), a back portion () at which a back ventilation region is provided and functional elements (). The heat generated by the functional elements is removed by an air flow (FL) which enters the functional unit via each air grating in the front part and re-emerges from the functional unit via the back ventilation region, having passed right through the functional unit. The back portion belongs to a base of the drawer to which the functional elements are attached and comprises a group of upstream connectors () connected to an electricity source, a group of downstream connectors () connected to an electrical load and a ventilation orifice () which is part of to the back ventilation region and which is located between the group of upstream connectors and the group of downstream connectors.

A functional module () for an electrical connection enclosure comprises one or more monitoring-and-control units (), a protection unit () common to all the monitoring-and-control units (), supplying electrical power to all the monitoring-and-control units and electrically protecting all the monitoring-and-control units, a segment of computer bus () connecting all of the monitoring-and-control units to an industrial computer, just as many external connection modules () and input-output modules () as monitoring-and-control units, and a support structure. The height of the monitoring-and-control units can be equal to 1U, 2U, 3U, 4U, 5U or 6U, 'U' designating a unit height corresponding to a base height of a monitoring-and-control units, and the functional module has a main height (H) equal to 6U and can accommodate any technically permissible combination of monitoring-and-control units, depending on the height of these control units.

An electrical connection enclosure comprises at least one electricity source connected to an associated electrical load and comprising a base, a frontal portion, a cover and functional elements attached to the base. All the electricity sources have a base of constant height and a frontal portion and a cover whose heights are adapted to the dimensions of the functional elements. The electrical enclosure comprises at least one external connection module () associated to one of the electricity sources and selected from a set of external connection modules. Each external connection module comprises a first end () of height equal to the height of the bases and comprising input connectors () connected to the electricity source, and a second end () of height equal to one, two or three times the height of the bases and less than or equal to the height of the associated electricity sources and comprising output connectors () connected to the electrical load.

An electric cabinet comprising an outer frame defining the general shape of the electric cabinet and an inner frame comprising fixing uprights and cross-members, a functional assembly fixed onto the inner frame and comprising a plurality of functional units each equipped with a mounting plate designed to receive one or more electric equipment units. The mounting plates are fixed onto the uprights and fixing cross-members in contiguous manner to form a separating partition delineating a first space located towards the front part and a second space located towards the rear part. The functional assembly comprises at least one support fixed in independent manner onto an upright or a cross-member of the inner frame and a connector arranged on the support, the support being positioned on the upright or fixing cross-member so as to enable the connector to pass through an opening made through the mounting plate.
