A device configured to be mounted on a mechanical component and to measure an axial load exerted on the mechanical component, the device including a ring provided with an inner cylindrical surface and with an outer opposite cylindrical surface, the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces delimiting the radial thickness of the ring. The device further provides at least one optical sensing fiber disposed in a first circumferential groove provided on one of the outer and inner cylindrical surfaces of the ring.

The rolling bearing provides a first ring, a second ring and at least one row of rolling elements arranged therebetween. Each of the first and second rings include an inner bore having an outer surface and at least one raceway for the row of rolling elements formed on one of the inner bore and outer surface. The first ring provides at least one part ring delimiting the raceway, and at least one sleeve secured to the part ring and delimiting at least partly the other of the inner bore and outer surface of the first ring. The rolling bearing further provides at least one optical fiber sensor mounted inside at least one circumferential groove formed on the first ring and passing through at least one optical fiber sensor passage opening into the circumferential groove.

A bearing includes at least one bearing ring, a target ring and a coupling element. The coupling element is provided for maintaining the relative position of the bearing ring to the target ring. An instrumented rolling bearing, comprising an outer ring and an inner ring having a rolling bearing chamber delimited therebetween. Rolling bodies are positioned in the rolling bearing chamber while being maintained by a rolling bearing cage. The rolling bearing further comprises a measuring device including at least one sensor suitable for measuring at least one operating parameter of the instrumented rolling bearing, the measuring device being at least partially integrated into the rolling bearing chamber bearing cage. A method for manufacturing one such instrumented rolling bearing is also disclosed.
