A substrate for contacting an electrical pin arranged in a housing includes a base having a recess receiving the electrical pin, a metal leadframe having a contacting region electrically and/or thermally contacting the electrical pin, and a contact pin extending along a mating direction in a plane parallel to the metal leadframe and configured to electrically contact a mating contact pin of a mating connector. The metal leadframe is rigidly fixed to the base to prevent a relative movement between the metal leadframe and the substrate. The substrate is movable with respect to the housing along a locking direction from an unlocked position where the substrate is not locked to the housing to a locked position in which the substrate is locked to the housing. A movement of the contacting region with respect to the electrical pin is prevented in the locked position.

A sealed cable feedthrough of a plug connector includes a housing having an opening receiving a cable, a cover partially covering the opening, the cover having a through hole receiving the cable along an insertion direction, and a seal member sealing an interface between the housing and the cover. The seal member has a tubular member with a through hole receiving the cable along the insertion direction. The tubular member is arranged within the through hole of the cover and extends along a direction parallel to the insertion direction. The tubular member seals an interface between the cover and the cable.

A temperature measuring device for measuring a temperature of a terminal of an electrical connector includes a printed circuit board, a temperature sensor mounted on the printed circuit board, and a thermally conductive sleeve having a first thermally conductive portion and a second thermally conductive portion. The first thermally conductive portion has a recess receiving a part of the printed circuit board. The first thermally conductive portion is in thermal contact with the temperature sensor. The second thermally conductive portion forms a flexible tab extending from the first thermally conductive portion and contacting the terminal.

An electrical connector includes a housing formed in a single piece and including a recess, a compression spring disposed in the recess, and a position assurance element having a head disposed in the recess and inserted through a first end of the compression spring. The compression spring is unloaded in a plugged-in position of the electrical connector into a mating connector and opposes plugging of the electrical connector into the mating connector in a loaded state. The first end of the compression spring exerts a force only on the position assurance element, the position assurance element exerts a force on the one-piece housing, and a second end of the compression spring opposite the first end along a longitudinal axis of the compression spring exerts a force only on the recess of the housing.

An electrical connector for a safety restraint system comprises a connector housing, a plurality of contact elements disposed in the connector housing, an activation member movable relative to the connector housing in an activation direction between a deactivation position and an activation position, and a short-circuiting member disposed on the activation member. The connector housing is adapted to be plugged into a mating connector in a plug-in direction. The contact elements are adapted to be brought into electrical contact with a plurality of mating contact elements of the mating connector. The short-circuiting member is disposed on the activation member and electrically connects the contact elements only in the deactivation position. The contact elements are not electrically connected to one another in the activation position.

Electrical connector for a safety restraint system

A pyrotechnic electrical connector comprises a housing and a connector position assurance device. The housing is configured for plugging in and locking to a mating connector. The housing receives a plurality of electrical terminals to be connected to a plurality of mating electrical terminals of the mating connector. The connector position assurance device is insertable in the housing in an insertion direction to a delivery position and a locking position. The locking position maintains locking of the housing to the mating connector when the housing is plugged in and locked to the mating connector. Insertion of the connector position assurance device is blocked at the delivery position and prevented from reaching the locking position if the housing is not plugged in or locked to the mating connector.

The present invention relates to an electrical connector for a plug-in connection, comprising a connector housing having a mating part defining a receiving section adapted for receiving a mating section of a counter-connector, at least two contact elements that are placed in the receiving section, and a ground contact assembly comprising a ground contact having a contacting portion adapted for being electrically connected with a grounding element of a retainer. For providing an electrical connector, which can be coupled with standard counter-connectors, the ground contact assembly of the electrical connector according to the present invention is arranged outside the receiving section with the contacting portion extending at least section-wise into the receiving section.

An electrical connector comprises a shunt attached to a pivotable secondary locking member, for example by overmoulding. The shunt contact protrusions are positioned further towards the terminal receiving end of the connector than the pivot axis such that upon pivoting the secondary locking member from the preassembly to the fully locked position the contact force between the shunt and tab is increased.

A connector comprises a housing for receiving terminals therein, a secondary locking member mountable thereto and a linear bayonet type of slide-lock member to assist coupling of the connector to a complementary connector. In the preassembly position, the slide lock member is in a fully closed position where shoulders engage with latches of the secondary locking member which is in the preassembly position allowing reception of terminals in cavity of the connector housing. When the secondary locking member is depressed into its fully locked position, the latches disengage from the shoulders of the slide-lock member, thus allowing it to be opened to enable coupling to the complementary connector. Due to the slide-lock member being in a fully closed position when the secondary locking member is in a preassembly position, coupling between the connector with a complementary connector is prevented, and in particular not even partial coupling is allowed as the complementary connector studs cannot engage in the camming slots at all.
