Techniques for guidance image generation for a mobile device are described and are implementable to generate a guidance image for display by a first device based on digital content displayed by a second device. For instance, a mobile device executes and controls a gaming application, and communicates digital content from the application to a display device. A screenshot of the digital content displayed by the remote display device is captured, and based on the screenshot the mobile device generates a guidance image. The guidance image depicts one or more touchpoints of the application, and is displayed by the mobile device. The mobile device is further operable to terminate display of the guidance image, such as based on receipt of an instance proximity-based input. The mobile device recalls the guidance image subsequent to termination of display, such as based on a user request to recall the guidance image.

An electronic device, a method, and a computer program product provides freeze frame videos in place of a live video feed to a video communication session. A processor of the electronic device determines that a local participant is connected via the electronic device to an ongoing video communication session with second participants having corresponding second participant devices. The processor captures, via an image capturing device, local video encompassing the local participant. The processor determines a video segment of the local video to identify as a freeze frame video. The processor presents the freeze frame video to the video communication session in response to a trigger condition that pauses a presentation of live video feed of the local participant to the video communication session. The processor loops the presentation of the freeze frame video until an expiration of a threshold maximum time established for presenting the freeze frame video.

An electronic device, method, and computer program product support sharing of a cross-view by a first communication device in a communication session with a second communication device. First semantic inputs by a first participant are communicated to the second communication device for presenting to a second participant. Second semantic inputs by the second participant are communicated to the first communication device for presenting to the first participant. The first communication device presents first visual content selected by the first participant. The second communication device presents second visual content presented by the second participant. In response to determining that the semantic input(s) are associated with the visual content, the first communication device communicates a duplicate copy of the first visual content to the second communication device. The first communication device receives a duplicate copy of the second visual content from the second communication device, as a cross view to enhance discussion.

An electronic device (e.g., a smartphone or tablet) can be connected to another electronic device that is typically a computing device (e.g., a mobile device such as a laptop or a non-mobile device such as a desktop computer or workstation), allowing the electronic devices to be used together. This connection can be a wired connection or a wireless connection. The relative location of one of the electronic devices relative to the other of the electronic devices is automatically determined by analyzing changes in the gaze of the user of the electronic devices. An indication of the position of one of the electronic devices relative to the other is then displayed on one of the electronic devices.

A processor of a first electronic device executes application(s) to present a first user interface at a first display of the first electronic device. The first electronic device enables a cross-view mode. The electronic device transmits a duplicate copy of the first user interface to the second electronic device for presenting at the second display. The first electronic device receives, from the second electronic device, a duplicate copy of a second user interface being presented at the second display. The first electronic device presents, at the first display, the duplicate copy of the second user interface concurrently with the first user interface.

The first communication device presents first visual content that is selected by a first participant. The second communication device presents second visual content that is selected by a second participant. Second semantic inputs by the second participant are communicated to the first communication device for presenting to the first participant. In response to determining that the semantic input(s) are associated with the visual content, the network device communicates a duplicate copy of the first visual content to the second communication device and a duplicate copy of the second visual content to the first communication device, as a cross view to enhance discussion.

Generally, the described implementations enable multiple different connectivity triggers to be utilized to trigger a connectivity session between devices, such as for enabling network connectivity of a first device to be provided to a second device.

In aspects of adaptive grip suppression, a wireless device has a display screen with curved display edges to display a user interface associated with a device application, the user interface including a selectable element to initiate a device application action. The wireless device implements an adaptive control module to adaptively manage grip suppression in the curved display edges of the display screen, which limits the device application action from being initiated based on inadvertent touch inputs on the selectable element. The adaptive control module can determine that the selectable element of the user interface is displayed within a region of a curved display edge of the display screen, and decrease the grip suppression in the region of the curved display edge proximate the selectable element of the user interface.

Generally, the described implementations enable multiple different input triggers to be utilized to trigger an input session between devices, such as for enabling proximity-based input (e.g., stylus input, touch input, etc.) to a first device to be provided as input to a second device.

An electronic device, computer program product, and method mitigates loss of communication between participants in a communication session when a local participant attempts to speak without manually unmuting the electronic device. The electronic device includes an image capturing device, a user interface device having a microphone, and a controller. The controller is communicatively coupled to the image capturing device and to the user interface device. The controller monitors, during the communication session with a second electronic device, an image stream received from the image capturing device for movements by the local participant in the communication session. The controller autonomously generates a prompt to unmute the microphone in response to determining that the microphone is muted while identifying at least one of a speaking movement of a mouth of the local participant to speak or a gesture by the local participant that correlates with the participant wanting to speak.
