A method and a system for dynamic allocation of power for a satellite access network comprises a step for acquisition of a signal representative of an instantaneous power available on board at least one satellite and of a signal representative of the data rate in each resource allocation manager for the satellite access network, a step for conversion, for each resource allocation manager, of the signal representative of the data rate in the resource allocation manager into a value corresponding to the power consumed on board the satellite in order to obtain this data rate, a step for calculating a total power margin equal to the difference between the power available on board the satellite and the sum of the powers consumed by each resource allocation manager, a power allocation step, the value of power allocated being a function of the calculated total power margin.

A method of dynamic resource allocation for at least one satellite access network associated with at least one telecommunications satellite comprises a frequency-flexible payload, the at least one satellite access network comprises a plurality of resource allocation controllers. The method comprises the acquisition of the bandwidth desired by each resource allocation controller, reconfiguration of the payload of the at least one satellite considering the bandwidth desired by each resource allocation controller and the frequency resources available on board each satellite, and a step of frequency allocation to the various resource allocation controllers, considering the bandwidth desired by each resource allocation controller and the frequency resources available on board each satellite.

An interleaver (ER) is dedicated to interleaving of interleaving units representing a selected number of services grouped into periodic frames within a long period time interleaving radio communication network. The said interleaver (ER) comprises processing means (MT) responsible for decomposing each frame into a chosen number of group(s) of service of constant respective durations, and then for distributing the interleaving units of each group into so-called spreading time intervals of constant respective durations spaced apart within a time interleaving period according to a period equal to the period of the frames.

System and method for use in a hybrid multispot satellite broadcasting system comprising at least one satellite (S; S; S) for multibeam broadcasting of beams in respective frequency bandwidths (F; F; F), the system further comprising a plurality of terrestrial repeater (R; R; R) for receiving, processing and re-transmitting said beams in a frequency bandwidth which is different from that of the bandwidth of the beam received. Each terrestrial repeater (R; R; R) re-uses for terrestrial re-transmission a combination of bandwidths corresponding to different beams broadcast from said satellite to different beams.

System and method for efficient frequency use in a hybrid multi-spot satellite broadcasting system

A satellite direct radio broadcast system is provided which assembles bits of broadcast programs into prime rate increments, several of which are assembled into a frame. Frames are divided into symbols which are demultiplexed into alternating ones of a plurality of prime rate channels. The prime rate channels are demultiplexed onto a corresponding number of broadcast frequencies for transmission to a satellite. The satellite payload switches the symbols into time division multiplexed (TDM) data streams. The receivers process the TDM streams using service control headers (SCHs) provided therein by broadcast stations. The SCHs facilitate transmission of different service components within broadcast channel frames, association of a primary broadcast channel with one or more secondary broadcast channels on a frame-to-frame basis, and the transmission of multiframe bit streams, or auxiliary data throughout a broadcast channel that are independent of a service, in contiguous or non-contiguous frames.
