A fairlead that is intended to equip a towing device that can be installed on the deck of a ship and includes a winch, a cable passing through the fairlead under the action of the winch, the fairlead comprising: an open-section channel extending in a main direction for guiding the cable, a movable bolt closing a section of the channel, a force sensor that is situated in front of the bolt in one sense of the main direction and is configured to detect an external force, and a trigger configured to open the bolt when a force exerted on the sensor and oriented along the main axis in the sense exceeds a predetermined force, and to close the bolt when this force ceases.

Automatic-opening fairlead and towing device comprising the fairlead

A device for towing very long tubular objects comprises a casing and an assembly which can be fixed removably to the casing. The removable assembly comprises: pulling means capable of driving in their movement, by friction, the object in a towing direction, gripping means capable of exerting a load on the pulling means to keep the pulling means and the towed object in continuous contact; the gripping means being driven by a relative movement relative to the towed object in a direction opposite to the towing direction. The casing comprises driving means, connected removably to the pulling means and gripping means and configured to drive in movement the pulling means and the gripping means in a coordinated manner to ensure a continuous and uniform pulling of the object.

Device for towing a very long tubular object

A device for towing very long tubular objects, comprises: pulling means capable of driving, by friction, the object in a towing direction, gripping means capable of exerting a load on the pulling means to keep the pulling means and the towed object in continuous contact; the gripping means being driven by a relative movement relative to the towed object in a direction opposite to the towing direction, driving means, capable of driving the pulling means and the gripping means in a coordinated manner to ensure a continuous and uniform pulling of the object, further comprising setting means, capable of adjusting the load exerted on the pulling means.

A towing device intended to equip the deck of a ship () and comprising a winch (), a cable () and a fairlead (), the cable () circulating in the fairlead () under the action of the winch (), the fairlead () comprising a frame () and at least one first and one second sectors, the sectors making it possible to guide the cable () in a channel formed in each of the sectors. The device comprises an articulation with a degree of freedom allowing the rotation of the second sector relative to the frame () about an axis contained in a plane comprising a first direction in which the cable can extend in the first sector, characterized in that the first sector is secured to the frame () and is interposed between the winch () and the second sector.
