The invention relates to an electronically commutated electric motor. The electric motor comprises a stator, and a rotor, in particular a permanent-magnetic rotor. The electric motor further comprises a control unit connected to the stator. The control unit is designed to actuate the stator such that the stator can generate a magnetic rotating field for rotationally moving the rotor. According to the invention, the control unit of the electric motor is provided with a power output stage having semiconductor switches. Subject to the low-resistance, or short-circuited, semiconductor switch of the power output stage, in particular as a result of defect, the control unit is designed to actuate the stator for generating the rotating field such that during a complete rotor revolution, the rotor can provide a mechanical output, or in the operational mode, a braking torque of the electric motor caused by the defect is reduced, or completely neutralized, by the low-resistance, or short-circuited, semiconductor switch.

A collision warning device for motor vehicles includes: a locating system for locating objects in the area in front of the vehicle; a control device for evaluating the data of the locating system and for outputting a warning signal in the event of an imminent risk of a collision; and a detection module for detecting the course of guardrails with the aid of the data of the locating system. In the control device an additional warning function is implemented, which calculates, with the aid of the dynamic state of the vehicle and with the aid of the detected guardrail course, a parameter for the transverse dynamics of the vehicle, which is required to avert a collision with the guardrail, and which outputs a warning signal when this parameter is larger than a predefined value.

A method and device are provided for measuring distance and relative speed of a plurality of objects with the aid of an FMCW radar, transmitted signals being reflected by objects, and the reflected signals being received and mixed with the transmitted signals. A combination of distance and relative speed values is assigned to the mixer output frequencies of each frequency ramp for each object, and the distance and relative speed of a possible object are determined from points of intersection of a plurality of distance and relative speed combinations. The apparent (unreal) objects are eliminated by modifying the frequency slope of at least one frequency ramp according to the random principle in a subsequent measurement cycle.

A method and a system for switching between a first operating mode and a second operating mode of a target control device connected to a data bus are provided. After activation of the target control device, a test device generates a predefined signal to be transmitted on the data bus, the predefined signal having a predefined frequency and a predefined pulse-duty factor. The target control device is switched from the first operating mode to the second operating mode in response to detecting the predefined signal transmitted on the data bus.

The at least one adjusting screw is able to be rotated using a regulatable adjusting drive, and for adjustment of the sensor housing there is an electronic control system present which conveys adjustment signals to the particular adjusting drive. A plug-in connection for a bus connection of the control unit electronics for communication with a higher-level bus system is present, and a compact support housing is constructed in which the electronic control system, the at least one adjusting drive and the plug-in connection are accommodated, and from which attachment points of the adjusting screws for the adjustable sensor housing protrude.
