Methods of joint repair employing sutures and attached fixation devices are discussed. For example, a bone block graft procedure (e.g., Latarjet) is discussed which employs fixation devices to secure contact between graft surfaces of two bones. A suture construct, including a continuous suture loop routed through a first fastener, is secured to a first bone. Looped ends of the suture loop are passed through passageways formed in the two bones. The looped suture ends are further routed through a second fastener. The second fastener is mounted to the second bone and a sliding knot, formed in the looped suture ends, is advanced into contact with the second fastener. The suture is further tensioned using a tensioner device to secure the two bones together.

Surgical fastening

A tissue protection sleeve for use in trauma surgery is disclosed. In various embodiments, the tissue protection sleeve includes an inner sleeve with a first end portion, a second end portion, a longitudinal axis, and a bore extending there through, and an outer sleeve at least partially surrounding and coupled to the inner sleeve, wherein the tissue protection sleeve is capable of flexing or bending without collapsing the bore. In some embodiments, the inner sleeve may include a number of distinct geometries to provide sufficient structural rigidity, whilst still allowing the inner sleeve to bend. Additionally, a tissue protection sleeve handle may be coupled to the tissue protection sleeve to allow for manipulation of the tissue protection sleeve. In certain embodiments, pin guide holes or channels may be used to secure the tissue protection sleeve to a patient's bone.

Drill guide assemblies are adjustable for proper alignment of drill holes in the glenoid with the drill holes in the coracoid during a Latarjet procedure. The drill guide has an aimer arm extending from the body of the drill guide which has a fixed angle with respect to a drill sleeve inserted through the guide. The aimer arm can move up or down relative to the drill sleeve while maintaining the fixed angle relative to the drill sleeve by actuation of a translation member on the body.
