According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a battery system includes: a system frame configured to include a pair of first frame beams that extend in a first direction and a pair of second frame beams that extend in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and that are connected to the first frame beams; a plurality of traverses spaced apart in the first direction and coupled to the pair of first frame beams; and a plurality of battery modules respectively coupled to at least one of the traverses and each including a plurality of battery cells arranged in the second direction, wherein the pair of first frame beams includes a plurality of coolant supply lines, and at least one of the traverses is connected to the coolant supply lines.

A battery system includes: a battery submodule including a plurality of secondary battery cells electrically connected to each other in series or in parallel; a battery module including a plurality of the battery submodules connected to each other in series or in parallel; and a crossbeam including a coolant duct. The battery module is mechanically coupled to the crossbeam, and the crossbeam is in thermal contact with a first side surface of at least one of the battery submodules of the battery module.

A battery pack includes a first battery module level and a second battery module level. The first battery module level includes: a first heat exchanger including a cooling tube that defines a cooling area; a first secondary battery cell in thermal contact with the first heat exchanger at the cooling area; a coolant distributor line outside the first heat exchanger and configured to supply coolant to the cooling tube; a coolant interconnector fluidly connecting the cooling tube or the coolant distributor line to the second battery module level; and an encapsulation element enclosing the coolant interconnector and confining a volume in which the coolant interconnector is arranged between the first battery module level and the second battery module level.
