There is provided a method performed by a first storage provisioning node of a system for provisioning storage in the system. In response to a first request for an encrypted storage volume for an application node, transmission of a second request is initiated () towards a second storage provisioning node for an unencrypted storage volume. In response to the requested unencrypted storage volume becoming available to the first storage provisioning node, an encrypted storage volume is generated () from the unencrypted storage volume and provisioning of the encrypted storage volume is initiated () to make the encrypted storage volume available at a compute node of the system for use by the application node.

Storage provisioning

There is provided a method performed by an encryption node for provisioning storage in a system. The encryption node is associated with an application node and the application node is configured to run at least part of one or more applications. In response to an unencrypted storage volume becoming available to the encryption node from a storage provisioning node of the system, an encrypted storage volume is generated () from the unencrypted storage volume and provisioning of the encrypted storage volume is initiated () to make the encrypted storage volume available at a compute node of the system for use by the application node.

A Network Functions Virtualisation Management and Orchestration system, NFV-MANO, for managing resources in a Network Function Virtualisation Infrastructure, NFVI, has elements (NFVO, VNFM) for orchestrating and managing virtual resources to provide a network service and has an allocation element (VIM) for managing an allocation of physical resources for the virtual resources. One of the elements for orchestrating (NFVO, VNFM), obtains () information about which of the virtual resources could be affected by a planned adjustment of the allocation, and determines an impact () of the planned adjustment on a network service, based on this information. An indication based on the impact on the network service is sent () to the allocation element (VIM), which implements the planned allocation according to the indication. This can help enable a better trade off between allocation efficiency and quality of network service.

Managing planned adjustment of allocation of resources in a virtualised network

The present disclosure relates to a method for monitoring virtual machines in a data center, to a computer program for executing the method, to a monitoring control unit for monitoring virtual machines in a data center, as well as to a data center comprising the monitoring control unit. The method comprises: receiving (S) a request to monitor a target virtual machine executing on a target computing unit hosted in the data center; identifying (S) a current allocation of one or more virtual machines to one or more computing units hosted in the data center; determining (S) an enhanced allocation of the one or more virtual machines to one or more computing units hosted in the data center, the enhanced allocation reducing a load imposed on the target computing unit compared to the load imposed on the target computing unit under the current allocation; migrating (S) the one or more virtual machines so as to reallocate the one or more virtual machines from the current allocation to the enhanced allocation; and monitoring (S) the target virtual machine upon completion of the migration of the one or more virtual machines.

Performing monitoring and migration of virtual machines in a data center to prevent service level degradation due to the load imposed by the monitoring

A mobility node is configured to track a mobility of entities. A pool of mobility nodes serve a common section of a cellular network, wherein for each of the mobile entities a unique identifier is used to uniquely identify the corresponding mobile entity and a temporary identifier is used to identify the corresponding mobile entity in at least one section of the cellular network. A message is received for one of the mobile entities identifying the mobile entity by an unknown temporary identifier. An identification request is transmitted to a storage unit storing information allowing a unique identifier to be determined based on a temporary identifier, the identification request requesting the unique identifier based on the unknown temporary identifier. A response to the transmitted identification request is received including information allowing the unique identifier to be determined. A reaction message is transmitted taking into account the unique identifier.

Operating a pool of mobility nodes

A technique is provided for synchronizing a first call state of a network component and a second call state of a mobile device. The mobile device is connectable to a network via a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) and a second RAT. The network forwards towards a callee an invitation for a call originating via the first RAT from the mobile device. The network sends a first message corresponding to a callee response towards the mobile device. The network component triggers a transfer of the call session of the mobile device from the first RAT to the second RAT. The first call state is set by the response of the callee. Information indicative of the second call state is received from the mobile device, and a second message for changing the second call state by the response is provided to the mobile device when inconsistent first and second call states.

Synchronizing call states of network component and mobile device at session transfer

A method for establishing an intra-network call between a first subscriber, which is served by a first call control node in a visited public land mobile network, V-PLMN, and a second subscriber of a home public land mobile network, H-PLMN, which is different to the V-PLMN. The second subscriber is served by a second call control node of the same V-PLMN. The method include sending, by the first call control node, a call setup message to a gateway node in the V-PLMN which is adapted to perform re-routing of calls to another network. The gateway node requests routing information of the second call control node from a proxy location register, PLR, in the V-PLMN. The gateway node routes the call to the second call control node responsive to if routing information towards the second call control node is available from the PLR.

Data transfer in mobile networks

A technique for triggering a change of a call state of a mobile device is presented. A network forwards towards a callee an invitation for a call originating via a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) from the mobile device, and forwards a response of the callee via the first RAT towards the mobile device. The response indicates a change of the call state from a first state to a second state. A first network component changes via a second RAT the call state of the mobile device when receiving information indicative of the first state followed by receiving a message indicative of the second state. A second network component receives from the first network component an invitation for a transfer of the call of mobile device from the first RAT to the second RAT.

Technique for transferring a session with changeable session state

A Mobile Switching Center, MSC, an Access Transfer Control Function, ATCF, an Access Transfer Gateway, ATGW and respective methods therein are provided for performing a packet-switched, PS, to circuit-switched, CS, handover of a User Equipment, UE, are provided. When the UE is handed over from a PS communication network to a CS communication network, the MSC requests the ATCF controlling the ATGW to bi-casting to both the CS communication network and the PS communication network, and forwarding speech data from the UE to a remote terminal with which the UE is communicating during the PS to CS handover procedure. Once the UE is handed over, the bi-casting and the forwarding are terminated.

The present invention relates to a switching center server () handling calls, comprising a blade cluster with a plurality of different blades (), a distributor () distributing a message relating to a call to one of the blades, a master () centrally controlling a usage of pooled resources by said plurality of blades () for handling the call, wherein the distributor contacts the master for retrieving the information to which blade said message is to be distributed. The different blades in the blade cluster are seen from the outside as one node, so that for message distribution the master is contacted in order to distribute the message relating to a call to the blade that is handling said call.

Blade cluster switching center server and method for signaling

The present invention relates to location based network selection in a mobile terminal moving (A to H) in a wireless communication environment set up of a home network in a home country having a border and at least one foreign network achieving radio coverage at least in part of the geographical area of the home country. A position (A to H) of the mobile terminal is monitored. Then, a network selection mode is automatically switched from a home network selection mode, enabling registration only to the home network, to an automatic network selection mode when the mobile terminal crosses the border from the home country to the foreign country.
