The present invention relates to aqueous adhesive dispersions based on (meth)acrylate which contain as the stabilizer a partially or completely hydrolyzed copolymer of at least one vinyl ester monomer, preferably vinyl acetate, and at least one alkene diester monomer, preferably, 3,4-diacetoxy-1-butene, and to the use of said compositions as labeling adhesives or sealing adhesives.

Aqueous adhesive composition

An aqueous adhesive dispersion containing 25 to 70 wt % acrylate block copolymers and/or styrene block copolymers that have a molecular weight of more than 15,000 g/mol and at least two different glass transition temperatures, one glass temperature (Tg) being above 50&#xb0; C., the other glass transition temperature below +10&#xb0; C., as well as additionally further additives, the dispersion containing less than 0.5 wt % organic solvent.

Block copolymers in adhesive dispersions

The invention provides an adhesive with an aqueous polymer dispersion. The aqueous polymer dispersion comprises a copolymer of a) esters of vinyl alcohol with Cto Cmonocarboxylic acids, b) &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated Cto Ccarboxylic acids or vinyl-substituted phosphonic or sulfonic acids, c) polyunsaturated monomers, and optionally d) non-polar, copolymerizable monomers and e) copolymerizable monomers that carry polar functional groups, where the ratio of c:b ranges from 1:10 to 1:400. The adhesive has high adhesion strength, stable viscosity during high-speed automatic application process and, is optionally, remoistenable with water or becomes water-soluble. The adhesive may be advantageous used as wood adhesive, remoistenable adhesive, label adhesive, bottle adhesive, and the like.

Aqueous dispersion

A filled gum adhesive useful for producing remoistenable layers contains fillers, protective colloids, and a (co)polymer, wherein the (co)polymer is prepared by polymerizing one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of a dispersion of protective colloid and filler particles.
