In the present embodiments, a statement related to an image point or an image region in a reconstructed x-ray image is made in relation to the reliability of the reconstructed grayscale value for the image points of a 2D/3D x-ray image. A confidence level is formed for the grayscale value from a first number of the available x-ray images in relation to a second number of required x-ray images for a complete reconstruction of the respective grayscale value of the 2D/3D x-ray image to be imaged.

In a method and an apparatus for representing an x-ray image of an examination subject, a measurement field is determined in the image field of the x-ray image, the measurement field being dependent on the position of a subject image region representing the examination subject in the image field and being essentially situated within this subject image region grey scale values for the image rendering are determined exclusively from the intensities measured within this measurement field.

Method and apparatus for representing an x-ray image

In a method and an apparatus for generation of an x-ray image of an examination subject, a subject image region exclusively reproducing the examination subject is identified in the image field of a first, complete x-ray image. A grayscale value range is identified in an intermediate image encompassing the entire image field and derived from the first x-ray image by digital image processing; and all image points whose grayscale value in the intermediate image lie within this grayscale value range are associated with the subject image region.
