A protective helmet having a shock-resistant helmet shell having a cut out for establishing a visor opening and a visor panel arranged on the outer side of the helmet shell pivotably around a pivot joint is provided with a vison panel arranged pivotably on the inner side of the helmet shell. The vision panel has at least one lateral end mounted displaceably in a guide which forma a curved section whose virtual pivot point lies outside the lateral end at a distance behind the lateral end of the vision panel so that the path of movement of the vision panel matches to the inner contour of the helmet shell. This makes possible to guide the vision panel inside the helmet shell at a substantially uniform distance from the inner side of the helmet shell, with the result that a minimum space requirement for the vision panel is required on the inner side of the helmet shell. At least one lateral end, preferably both lateral ends, of the vision panel may be connected to a Bowden cable, the other end of which cable is coupled to an actuating element arranged on the outer side of the helmet shell.

Protective helmet

The invention relates to an integral helmet comprising a shock resistant helmet shell () which covers the top part of the head to the neck and the ear area of a user, defines a visor opening () at lower and top edges and is complimented by the chin area defining the lower side of the visor opening in such a way that a slip opening () which totally encompasses the neck of the helmet user is formed, wherein the chin area is connected to the helmet shell () which upwardly pivots around a horizontal axis of rotation for enlarging the slip opening (). The aim of said invention is to develop a light identically safe helmet. For this purpose, the chin area comprises a chin element () which is connected to a lateral area () of the shell () in such a way that it is pivotable around a rotatable joint having a substantially horizontal axis in order to increase the slip opening (). When said chin element is closed, it extends away from the lateral area () of the shell over half the width of the visor opening and is connectable to the helmet element () adjacent to an edge () by the free end thereof.

Integral helmet

A helmet, particularly a racing driver helmet for motorcycle drivers or automobile drivers, has a helmet shell which is lined on its interior side with a shock-absorbing material and which has a recess which forms a field of view for the wearer of the helmet, and has a chin bow extending below the field of view. On the interior side of the chin bow at least one pot-shaped recess is provided for receiving an indicating device.
