A switchable cam lever that includes an inner lever and an outer lever is provided for a valve drive of an internal combustion engine. A transverse coupling serves for connecting the outer and inner lever to one another. A cam return spring is braced between the outer and inner lever. The return spring is installed upright, wherein the coupling runs directly above a support surface, and the return spring, as viewed in a lever longitudinal direction is guided in a receptacle in the inner lever. The receptacle is situated directly and entirely in front of the support surface and is formed as a bore, and the return spring bears at one end against a base or annular collar of the bore and acts at an opposite end against a crossbar which connects two arms of the outer lever at the top side.

Switchable cam lever

An arrangement for coupling two components that can move relative to each other in a switchable valve train component for an internal combustion engine is provided, with a coupling element () that can be moved for coupling the components with a flattened coupling surface () for contacting a corresponding locking contour. The locking contour has recesses () in which the coupling element () can engage so that it can move in contact with the locking contour for coupling with its coupling surface () in a position slightly rotated relative to a predetermined coupling position.

An actuator unit () of a cam shifting system, which actuator unit is mountable on an internal combustion engine or a component thereof and has at least one actuator pin () for moving shifting cam units of the cam shifting system into different axial positions by means of at least one shift groove formed on the periphery of the shifting cam units and cooperating with the actuator pin (). The actuator pins () are spring-loaded in a direction toward the shifting cam unit, operable by a solenoid unit, and slidably supported in a housing () of the actuator unit (). The housing () of the actuator unit () is provided with at least one enlargement in each inner surface facing an actuator pin ().

Actuator unit with reduced actuator pin friction

An internal combustion piston engine having gas exchange valves actuated by cams of a camshaft. The cams are sliding cams having two cams per sliding cam unit situated on a basic shaft in rotationally fixed fashion but axially displaceable. At least one actuator unit has two actuator pins for displacing the sliding cam units into different axial positions using displacement grooves on the circumference of the sliding cam units, the grooves being helical and situated mirror-symmetrically, and having an ejection ramp for the actuator pins. The actuator pins are spring-loaded toward the sliding cam unit and, in retracted positions, can be fixed by arresting devices, which have control needles that correspond to clamping bodies of locking devices. These needles are actuatable by an electromagnet unit, with the control needles being connected with a needle bridge. A pin engages the needle bridge, and the pin is controlled by the electromagnet unit.
