A method and an apparatus are provided for monitoring or setting a quality of service for a data transmission via a data connection formed between at least one application and a transmission/reception device connected to the mobile communication device by way of at least one radio channel. The quality of service is established via setting a connection capacity and/or a data transmission mode such that an appropriate user satisfaction value corresponds at least to a minimum threshold. The quality of service can also be set in accordance with the utilization level of the corresponding radio network.

Method and apparatuses for monitoring or setting quality of service for a data transmission via a data connection in a radio network

Transmission channels are selected in a multiantenna network radio connection in which data are transmitted using radio signals between a radio base station and a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal has at least one decoder, by means of which radio signals received by at least one of the terminal antennas can be decoded in order to obtain the data. By means of the transmission channel selection, it is decided which transmission path and/or which communication technology is to be used for the transmission of the data between the radio base station and the mobile terminal.

Method and device for selecting transmission channels in a network radio connection

A method and a device are disclosed for controlling at least one data connection and/or one data transmission through the at least one data connection for a mobile radio device. Control information that was previously collected by one or more agents coupled to the mobile radio device is taken into account in the control of the data connection and/or the data transmission. The control information contains route- and/or user-specific information. The collecting of data is carried out by an agent, which is preferably designed to be self-learning.

However, not every device that comprises a clusterhead device is activated as a clusterhead. A method for broadcast service following for a vehicle includes a first step of continuously, or in given time intervals, estimating a signal quality and/or signal availability of the DAB service and/or the cellular network based broadcast service in a route section the vehicle is expected to reach in a given time span. The method also includes a second step of performing a handover from the DAB service to the corresponding cellular network based broadcast service dependent on the estimated signal quality and/or signal availability. The first step may depend on provided data base information. The first step may in addition, or in the alternative, depend on service information, which is included in a received DAB signal.

A communication device for a vehicle has a first communication unit and a second communication unit. The first communication unit is configured to communicate with a server via a first communication protocol. The second communication unit is configured to communicate with at least one further vehicle via a second communication protocol. The first communication unit is configured to receive from the server control information for the second communication protocol and to forward it to the second communication unit. The second communication unit is configured to perform, depending on the forwarded control information, at least one predetermined setting for communicating with the at least one further vehicle by use of the second communication protocol.
