A device for producing a strip-shaped composite sheet may comprise at least two outer metal cover sheets and at least one plastic layer disposed between the two outer metal cover sheets. The device may further comprise at least one first laminating device for laminating the metal cover sheets with the at least one plastic layer arranged between the metal cover sheets, with the first laminating device comprising at least two laminating rolls forming a laminating gap. One object of the present disclosure is to provide methods and devices for producing composite sheets, with which the economy, in particular the production speed, of the production method can be significantly increased and at the same time the risk of delamination of the composite sheets during the further processing can be reduced.

A method for forming a beading fold in a multi-layer composite material, which has at least one core layer made of a plastics material and at least two cover layers made of a metallic material, provides high process reliability and optimal integrity of the formed multi-layer composite material. In particular, the method provides that, in the region of the beading fold to be formed, the core layer of the composite material is heated at least in portions to a temperature of 180&#xb0; C. to 300&#xb0; C. The invention relates to a structural or chassis component of a motor vehicle, said structural or chassis component consisting of a composite material comprising an outer metallic layer, a middle plastics or plastics foam layer and an outer fiber-reinforced plastics layer. The object of providing a structural or chassis component which allows a further reduction in weight to be made without adversely affecting the load bearing capacity characteristics is achieved in that the thickness of the middle plastics layer is at least 0.2 mm.

The polymer layer of the composite component according to the invention comprises at least one foamed polymer layer of a thermoplastic polymer, wherein the foamed polymer layer comprises gas bubbles with a volume percentage of 1% to 80%, in particular 5% to 70%.
