An actuator to set a park lock of an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle has a drive () driving a drive shaft (), a first actuating element () operatively connected to the drive shaft () for actuating a switching device, a spring element (), which is supported on one side on a housing component () of the actuator, and on the other side on a second actuating element () designed to load the spring element (). The actuator also has an electromagnetic retaining device () with an electromagnet () which interacts magnetically with a magnetic armature () comprising a ferromagnetic material component to retain the spring element () which is under loading, building up a spring return force. The magnetic armature () is mounted tiltably and/or pivotably on a pivot component () of the retaining device ().

The invention relates to a motor vehicle actuator, in particular a brake actuator, comprising a housing () which consists of a housing container () and a housing cover () designed as a base support, and in which an electric motor () and a transmission () coupled to the electric motor via a torque transmitting device () are arranged. A retaining frame which can be arranged on the housing cover () is provided in order to arrange the electric motor () within the housing (). The invention is characterized in that the holding frame () is designed as a damping and/or spring device.
