The invention relates to a method for producing a medical electrode, comprising the following steps: (i) providing a substrate; (ii) applying a composition onto the substrate, wherein the composition comprises (a) a non-aqueous solvent and (b) an organic iridium complex compound dissolved in the solvent; (iii) heating the composition, and thereby forming a noble metal layer on the substrate.

One aspect relates to a method of producing a sleeve for a ring electrode for electrophysiological and neuro-medical applications from a biocompatible metallic tape. Repetitive structures are punched into the tape and each includes at least one surface that is connected by at least one fin to at least one external strip. The at least one external strip connects the repetitive structures to each other on the margin. A sleeve mold is formed from a multiple of the repetitive structures through multiple reforming steps by a reforming technique. The sleeve mold is punched off the such that the sleeve is formed with a first tube-shaped region with a larger diameter and a second tube-shaped region with a smaller diameter. The first region with the larger diameter has a larger external diameter and internal diameter than the second region with the smaller diameter, and the two regions are connected.

One method for the ring electrode includes providing an outer element, including an outer tube, providing a first inner element, including a first inner tube having a first core of a sacrificial material, providing a second inner element, including a second core of a sacrificial material, forming a composite tube by arranging the first inner element and the second inner element inside the outer element, the first inner element and the second inner element being arranged off-center with respect to one another, drawing the composite tube in a longitudinal direction of the composite tube, separating a composite tube disk from the composite tube, removing the sacrificial material of the first core, and removing the sacrificial material of the second core in order to obtain a contacting opening in the ring electrode.

Production method for a ring electrode

One embodiment relates to a pump device with an impeller; a pump housing, including a wall surrounding an interior having an inlet and an outlet. The impeller is provided in the interior of the pump housing. The pump housing includes at least one first part-region, at least two further part-regions and at least one third part-region. The at least one first part-region includes, to an extent of at least 60% by weight, based on the total weight of the first part-region, at least one nonmagnetic material, wherein the at least two further part-regions comprise, to an extent of at least 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the further part-region, at least one ferromagnetic material metal, wherein the at least one third part-region comprises a metal content in a range from 40% to 90% by weight, based on the total weight of the third part-region.

Pump housing made from at least three different sinterable materials

One aspect of the invention relates to a pump device comprising an impeller; a pump housing surrounding an interior region and having an inlet and an outlet. The impeller is provided in the interior region of the pump housing. The wall of the pump housing has at least one first subregion and at least two further subregions in at least one plane perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the pump housing. The at least one first subregion comprises at least 60% by weight, based on the total mass of the at least one first subregion, of at least one nonmagnetic material. The further subregions comprise at least 41% by weight, based on the total mass of the further subregions, of at least one ferromagnetic material, wherein each further subregion is adjacent to at least one first subregion in the plane.

Pump housing of a magnetic and a non-magnetic material

A stimulation electrode is produced having a porous film layer and being partially coated with an insulating parylene (polyparaxylylene) film, whose insulating film has a dielectric breakdown voltage of greater than 100 V. Parylene is deposited on the entire surface of a porous film coating and then partially removed again by plasma. After the partial removal of the parylene, this porous film still has a capacitance of greater than 15 mF/cmin a physiological NaCl solution at a frequency of 0.1 Hz. For the stimulation electrode, the transition from the insulating film to the porous film is formed so that the film thickness of the parylene film decreases continuously. In this way, a stimulation electrode having a porous film layer and being partially coated with an insulating parylene film is provided, whose electrode on the non-insulating parylene film-coated surface has a capacitance of greater than 15 mF/cmin a physiological NaCl solution at a frequency of 0.1 Hz and whose insulating film advantageously has a dielectric breakdown voltage of greater than 100 V.

Selective parylene coating for cardiac pacemaker electrodes

A stimulation electrode is provided having an electrically conducting electrode base member which is partially covered with an electrically insulating ceramic layer. The ceramic layer is formed of an oxide and/or an oxynitride of at least one metal of the group of titanium, niobium, tantalum, zirconium, aluminum and silicon. Various methods are provided for production of the stimulation electrode, including methods in which the ceramic layer is formed in situ by a thermal, chemical or electrochemical oxidation or oxynitridation process. The stimulation electrode may be used as a cardiac pacemaker electrode, a neuro-stimulation electrode, or another human implant.

Method for producing a stimulation electrode

A stimulation electrode is provided having an electrically conducting electrode base member which is partially covered with an electrically insulating ceramic layer. The ceramic layer is formed of an oxide and/or an oxynitride of at least one metal of the group of titanium, niobium. tantalum, zirconium, aluminum and silicon. Various methods are provided for production of the stimulation electrode, including methods in which the ceramic layer is formed in situ by a thermal, chemical or electrochemical oxidation or oxynitridation process. The present invention provides improved cathodes and industrialized methods for producing such cathodes using an industrial dosing valve-based electrode coating fluid emitting technique. The family of cathodes according to the present invention can be produced so that they inhabit a pre-existing metallic surface such as an inner surface of a titanium casing adjacent but insulated from direct electrical communication from an anode. Foil-type valve metal anodes as well as porous valve metal anodes formed from metallic powders may be used in conjunction with the cathodes of the present invention.

Methods and apparatus for producing carbon cathodes

An electrode for medical applications is provided with a PtIr coating which is at least partly porous. The coating contains more than 20% iridium by weight and at least 100 ppm Pt. The coated areas of the electrode exhibit an electrochemical capacitance of more than 5 mF/cmin physiological saline solution at 37&#xb0; C. and a measurement frequency of 100 mHz. A sputter process is suitable for this purpose, in which a porous platinum-iridium layer is deposited on the electrode by simultaneously sputtering at least one iridium target and at least one platinum target.
