A device for orienting a medical object in respect of an object under examination includes an orientation element, a guide element, an ancillary element, and a light guiding device. The orientation element is movably mounted about a center of rotation and is configured for the longitudinal guidance of the medical object along a guide axis. The ancillary element includes an identification marker configured to be arranged in the center of rotation. The light guiding device is configured to emit a predefined distribution of light for specification of a path. The arrangement of orientation element and ancillary element may be moved about the center of rotation arranged on the path, such that the predefined distribution of light illuminates the identification marker with a predefined light pattern, when the guide axis of the orientation element is oriented in a defined positional relationship in respect of the path.

The patient table includes a first table subunit, to provide a first surface region of the support surface; a second table subunit, to provide a second surface region; and an angle unit connected thereto, to fix a position of the first table subunit relative to the second table subunit such that the first surface region is provided in a first plane and the second surface region is provided in a second plane, intersecting the first plane at an intersection angle; and such that the support surface is secured against a change of the intersection angle upon loading of the support surface by the patient. The disclosure relates to methods, systems, and computer program products for registering a set of X-ray images with a navigation system. In the method, by a camera, at least one image of a reference object is recorded and, on the basis thereof, a current posture of the reference object is determined. It is then checked whether this posture fulfils a specified criterion, which also on an arrangement of the reference object at least partially outside a planned reconstruction volume of the X-ray device, predicts an expected successful registration. On non-fulfillment of the criterion, a signal for adaptation of a relative alignment between the X-ray device and the reference object is automatically output. On fulfillment of the criterion, the X-ray images of the reference object are recorded, the posture of the reference object is determined, and the registration is carried out using the determined postures as reference.

A method for acquiring an image data record with an x-ray imaging system with a recording system that may be rotated around an examination object is provided. The recording system is embodied for an endless rotation. The method includes providing a calibration data record that has measurement data from a plurality of rotations of the recording system in endless rotation. At least one selectable acquisition parameter is received from the group consisting of: period of acquisition; number of projection images to be acquired; angular region of the acquisition to be recorded; and angular increment between every two sequential projection images. An acquisition protocol with the selected acquisition parameter(s) is determined from the provided calibration data record. The determined acquisition protocol is loaded, and an image data record is recorded using the determined acquisition protocol.

The intended position of the instrument arm is established from the spatial position and the relative position. The actual position of the instrument arm is detected. The instrument arm is moved into the intended position based on the actual position, the intended position and an error minimization method.

The present embodiments relate to a monitoring system for a medical device, wherein the medical device comprises a robot and an image recording part which can be moved by the robot. Provision is made for a radiation source which is attached to the medical device, and for a radiation receiver which is situated remotely from the medical device and is for receiving radiation that is emitted from the radiation source. A comparison entity compares the point of impact of radiation on the radiation receiver with one or more predetermined points of impact of radiation on the radiation receiver. The invention further relates to a corresponding method for monitoring a medical device.

A method for obtaining a 3D image dataset of an object of interest is proposed. A plurality of 2D X-ray images are captured and a 3D reconstruction is carried out using filtered back projection. The projection parameters have been measured with the aid of a calibrating phantom, possibly using an interpolation or extrapolation of such measurements. A model of effect strings of the components in an X-ray imaging device is obtained, and the model parameters are identified based on imaging of a calibrating phantom. A projection matrix can then be calculated for any positions on any desired trajectories, without having to use imaging of a calibrating phantom at precisely that position and desired trajectory.

An x-ray system is provided. The x-ray system includes an x-ray emitter which can be adjusted by at least one arm as a first x-ray component and a recording system which can be adjusted independently of the at least one arm. The recording system may be adjusted by at least one additional arm as the further x-ray component. The two arms can be pivotably mounted about a common axis of rotation.
