A razor cartridge including a housing; a trailing blade assembly mounted to the housing and including a trailing blade with a blade tip; a leading blade assembly mounted to the housing in front of the trailing blade assembly and including a leading blade with a blade tip; and a skin support element affixed to the leading blade assembly and extending towards the blade tip of the trailing blade assembly. A horizontal length of the skin support element may be greater than a distance from a trailing part of the skin support element to the blade tip of the trailing blade assembly.

Razor cartridge with one or more skin support elements

A razor blade including: a substrate having a tip portion including a tip region, a blade body including a base, and first and second outer sides disposed opposite a split line of the substrate that converge at a tip; and first and second coatings disposed substantially on the first and second outer sides, respectively. Also provided is a method of coating the razor blade, including: applying a first coating to at least a portion of the first outer side; and applying a second coating to at least a portion of the second outer side. The first and second coatings each extend from the tip region toward the base and are substantially different, as compared to each other.

Coatings for a razor blade

A razor blade including: a substrate having a tip portion including a tip region, a blade body including a base, and first and second outer sides disposed opposite a split line of the substrate that converge at a tip; and first and second coatings disposed substantially on the first and second outer sides, respectively. Also provided is a method of coating the razor blade, including: applying a first coating to at least a portion of the first outer side; and applying a second coating to at least a portion of the second outer side. The first and second coatings each extend from the tip region toward the base and are substantially different, as compared to each other. One or both of the first and second coatings comprise a plurality of layers of material.

Multi-layer coatings for a razor blade

A razor blade unit including a housing having a top surface, and a loop disposed on the top surface, the loop having two terminal ends and two exposed opposing edges between the two terminal ends. The loop intersects the top surface at the two terminal ends and the two terminal ends are spaced apart from each other on the top surface. At least a portion of at least one of the two exposed opposing edges has a cutting edge. The razor blade unit provides improved conformity to skin contours.

A razor blade having a substrate with a cutting edge being defined by a sharpened tip. The substrate has a thickness of between about 1.3 and 1.6 micrometers measured at a distance of four micrometers from the blade tip, a thickness of between about 2.2 and 2.7 micrometers measured at a distance of eight micrometers from the blade tip, a thickness of between about 3.8 and 4.9 micrometers measured at a distance of sixteen micrometers from the blade tip, a ratio of thickness measured at four micrometers from the blade tip to the thickness measured at eight micrometers from the blade tip of at least 0.55 and a ratio of thickness measured at four micrometers from the blade tip to the thickness measured at sixteen micrometers from the blade tip of at least 0.30.
