A method is described for debonding a bonded article. The bonded article comprises at least two components which are bonded to one another by means of a polyurethane adhesive selected from aqueous polyurethane dispersion adhesives and polyurethane hotmelt adhesives. At least one of the components is a thermoplastic polyurethane. The components are debonded by treatment with an aqueous surfactant composition at elevated temperatures.

Process for recycling of bonded articles

Described are aqueous adhesive dispersions comprising dispersed polyurethanes and also ethoxylated fatty alcohols as emulsifiers. The polyurethanes are constructed from certain organic diisocyanates, dihydroxy compounds selected from certain polyester diols and polyether diols, and compounds having groups reactive toward isocyanate groups and having at least one ionic group. The adhesive dispersions can be used as laminating adhesives, for example for composite film lamination or for the lamination of rigid moldings with flexible decorative foils.

Use of aqueous polyurethane dispersions for laminating molded articles

The present invention relates to the use of a polyurethane adhesive in the manufacture of film/foil-coated furniture. The adhesive consists of two components, the first component comprising at least two different polyurethanes which comprise carboxyl groups, and the polyurethanes comprising units derived from polyester diols and units derived from polyether diols, the weight quantity ratio of the sum total of all units derived from polyester diols to the sum total of all units derived from polyether diols being in the range from 1:9 to 9:1, and the second component comprising at least one silane compound reactive toward carboxyl groups.

Use of polyurethane adhesive formed from polyester diols, polyether diols and silane compounds in the manufacture of film/foil-coated furniture

Described is the use of synthetic adhesives in the manufacture of corrugated fiberboard at relatively low temperatures and high lineal speeds. The corrugated fiberboard includes a corrugated sheet of paper and a flat linerboard and the corrugation of the corrugated sheet of paper is produced at paper temperatures below 95&#xb0; C. and at a lineal speed above 150 m/min. The production of the corrugation of a corrugated sheet of paper is immediately followed by a continuous operation in which a preferably unheated corrugated board adhesive is applied and the corrugated sheet of paper is adhered to at least one first linerboard. The corrugated board adhesive used is an aqueous adhesive dispersion based on at least one synthetic, dispersed polymer having preferably more than 40% by weight solids content, selected from acrylate copolymers, copolymers of vinylaromatics and conjugated aliphatic dienes and vinyl acetate-alkylene copolymers, wherein the glass transition temperatures of the polymers are above 20&#xb0; C. and (preferably at least 5&#xb0; C.) below the surface temperature of the corrugated sheet of paper to which they are applied.

Use of synthetic adhesives in the manufacture of corrugated fiberboard

A description is given of an adhesive comprising two components, the first component comprising at least two different polymers of which at least one contains carboxyl groups. One of the polymers is selected from polymers which are capable of forming crystalline domains and copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate, and the second polymer is an amorphous polyurethane, the quantitative weight ratio of first polymer to second polymer being from 2:8 to 8:2. The second component comprises at least one silane compound that is reactive toward carboxyl groups. The adhesive can be used to produce film-laminated moldings for automobile construction which feature high resistance to climatic cycling.
